Outdoor Housing Decor Budget Increased by 40% in Patch 12.0.7

One of the features for Player Housing in Patch 12.0.7 is the addition of light fixtures to housing outdoors. After a week of testing this feature on the PTR, some positive changes are here. The Housing developers have announced that the outdoor Housing budget is being increased!

Outdoor Decor Budget Testing is Ongoing

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) by principal Housing Developer Jesse Kurlancheek, PTR testing of outdoor lighting fixtures has gone really well. So much so, they have been able to determine that the outdoor housing budget can go up in 12.0.7!

The budget is increasing from a maximum of 250 in the current live game.

In an additional post from Kurlancheek, the reason they have been so restrictive with the outdoor budget is their concern about game performance in very crowded neighborhoods.

Outdoor budget has always been a topic of contention within the Housing community. Most of the discourse is about players feeling disappointed by the low budget, which they feel severely limits what you can make outdoors.

Discourse on the subject has also increased following the recent In-Game Shop housing bundle, which features a new treetop exterior customization. Although players have been able to make beautiful structures such as treetop houses before the launch of the bundle (or the troll temple featured in our header), building such a structure does take a toll on your total budget.

The 12.0.7 changes represent a 40% increase in outdoor budget. This should help with building significantly, so we’re excited to see what players can come up with!
