Player Housing continues to be a really interesting catalyst for player creativity in WoW. A more utilitarian player is using his house not to create a home. Instead, he’s using his house to create boss arenas to help his guild learn fights!
Mythic L’ura’s Phase 2 Spread Recreated in Player Housing
Bigolbktofwtr recreated one of the hardest parts of the Midnight Falls fight for players to learn: The full raid splits for Criticality in Phase 2. In Mythic, after every Galvanize mechanic soak, all players will receive a Criticality circle. This mechanic forces every player to spread out in formation inside a small area to prevent chain damage.
As every player is supposed to stay in a specific spot and move quickly right after another positioning-intensive mechanic, building muscle memory can be difficult. Hence, Bigolbktofwtr recreated the Phase 2 arena so players can practice running into their positions without stress!
You can check his approach in the video below. He also talks about his approach to raid leading similar fights in past tiers, such as Liberation of Undermine.
Really old WoW players might see some similarities between this and an old addon from Wrath of the Lich King. The AVR addon allowed players to draw elements in the world that were visible to anyone with the addon enabled. It became very popular during Icecrown Citadel, as it was heavily used in fights with big positioning requirements like Saurfang and Sindragosa.

AVR’s functionality was broken in the final months of Wrath of the Lich King. It was never confirmed if the addon was an influence, but ground Raid Markers were first introduced to the game in Cataclysm.
Dimensius Training Grounds Were Also a Thing
This is not Bigolbktofwtr’s first boss training grounds in Housing, though. Back in The War Within, with Housing Early Access, he created a similar room to train on the Dimensius encounter.
For Dimensius, Bigolbktofwtr created two rooms: One to showcase the positions of the platforms players fly through in Phase 2. The second room was used for Phase 3, to help his raid with positioning for Voidstars during the Devour mechanic, as well as positioning for Cosmic Collapse pulls. It even includes a replica of Dimensius made entirely out of carpets!
You can check out his Dimensius Training Area video below.
Did you ever imagine Player Housing could be used in this manner? As a raid leader, would you consider using this with your raid team? It would definitely be a quick way to complete the Homecoming Housing Weekly!
