Blizzard is listening to player feedback regarding Showdown zone events, and a batch of hotfixes is now live. These hotfixes are aimed at speeding up catch-up gearing and ensuring characters can start Heroic World Tier more quickly.
The current batch of hotfixes adds features such as warbound Heroic gear caches from Maren Silverwing, more sources for Hero Dawncrests, and Showdown zone rares having faster spawn rates.
An additional hotfix coming with the weekly reset next week is also changing the loot from Showdown world bosses – First item of the week is now guaranteed to be a Hero piece on either difficulty, and subsequent items are Champion 4/6 on Normal World Tier, and Hero 1/6 on Heroic World Tier.
Showdown Reward Changes – June 26 and June 30
With hotfixes that are now live, we’ve made changes in response to feedback from players. In Normal World Tier, our goal is to make it easier for players to more easily gain power and graduate to Heroic World Tier content. For Heroic World Tier, we’re adding more powerful Warbound-until-equipped gear to accelerate alt gearing. We’re also increasing the frequency of rare spawns to reduce periods of downtime after all quests and objectives have been cleared:
- Void-Touched Heroic Caches from Maren Silversong in Silvermoon City are now Warbound.
- Rare enemies now drop twice as many crests as before.
- Warp Riders and Blasktar Legion enemies can now drop Heroic Crests in the Heroic World Tier.
- Dark Particles now drop in Val and Naigtal and stack to 1000.
- Rare enemies can now drop Heroic items that are Warbound-until-equipped.
- Increased the frequency of Rares spawning in the zones.
With scheduled weekly maintenance (on June 30 in this region):
- World Bosses now drop a Warbound Heroic 1/6 item in Normal and a Warbound Heroic 4/6 item in Heroic.
- Each player-character can now receive a Champion 4/6 Soulbound item on Normal and a Heroic 1/6 Soulbound item on Heroic.
