Blizzard has clarified some important information about Mythic dungeons for the launch of patch 12.1.
When the patch launches on the week of August 11, Mythic dungeons will be on a weekly lockout and will drop Champion track loot at 292 item level.
When Season 2 launches on the week of August 18, Mythic dungeons will be on a daily lockout instead.
This makes Mythic dungeons a great opportunity to gear characters before the season starts, as the 292 item level gear will be higher than most Season 1 Myth track gear, which is capped at 289 (with the exception of Sporefall loot and Ascendant Voidforged weapons and trinkets, which are 298 item level).
Additionally, completing Mythic dungeons during the first week of the patch will also grant credit towards the first Great Vault for Season 2.
Season 2 Dungeon Unlock Schedule
Week of August 11:
- Midnight Dungeons – Heroic and Mythic 0 difficulties (Mythic 0 is on a weekly reset and drops 292 item level gear).
- Credit toward Great Vault Season 2 rewards begins.
Week of August 18:
- Mythic 0 is on a daily reset (drops 292 item level gear)
