With this week’s weekly reset, the Voidforge is finally fully built, allowing players to obtain items to upgrade their weapons and trinkets further above their maximum item level! Learn how to unlock the Ascendant Voidforge and how to obtain
Ascendant Voidcore to upgrade your items further.
Unlocking the Ascendant Voidforge
Once you complete this week’s final Feeding the Nilhammer quest and fill up your Voidforge’s nillhammer bar, you will be offered the quest The Ascendant Nilhammer, which will finish building your Ascendant Voidforge

This quick quest will give you your very first
Ascendant Voidshard, as well as allowing for more to drop from content.
Obtaining Ascendant Voidshards
Once you’ve completed the Ascendant Nilhammer,
Ascendant Voidshard will start dropping from all sorts of content. These are not timegated and you can earn as many as you’re willing to farm. We have currently confirmed drops from the following (be mindful these are not 100% drops):
- Raid bosses in any difficulty.
- Dungeons in any difficulty.
- Bountiful Delves.
- Ritual Sites in any tier.
- Nightmare Prey Hunts (randomized hunts TBD).
You need five Ascendant Voidshards to combine them into one
Ascendant Voidcore, which is the item used to add upgrades to your gear.
Upgrading Gear with Ascendant Voidcores
Ascendant Voidcore adds 9 extra item levels to weapons and trinkets. Only one Ascendant Voidcore is required per item. Not all weapons/trinkets are eligible, though. You can only upgrade weapons and trinkets that are either:
- 6/6 Hero upgrade.
- 6/6 Myth upgrade.
- Quality 3 Radiance Crafted item.
Once you have the Voidcore and your item of choice, go to the Voidforge area in Voidstorm to use your Voidcore to upgrade your piece of gear! Doing so will also add the Ascendant Voidforged tag to your item.

What do you think of the Voidforge as a system to increase player power? What is the first item you’re upgrading with it?
