World PvP has received new things in Midnight, such as the Slayer’s Rise zone in Voidstorm. If you’re looking for a more immersive World PvP experience, the Overlord addon might be just what you’re looking for!
Overlord Addon – Transform the World into a Battlefield
The Overlord addon transforms zones of your game into a real-time battlefield, allowing players to engage in World PvP combat as if they were in a battleground! The system is inspired by MMOs like Dark Age of Camelot, Guild Wars 2, and Warhammer Online.
The addon currently has Arathi Highlands and Ruins of Gilneas as designated battlefields. You control nodes in the area by standing in them uncontested for a few minutes.
It also has mining operations in Hillsbrad Foothills and Silverpine Forest. You are able to harvest from the mines to earn Gold for buffs such as faster capturing and reinforcements for the area.
Overlord uses peer-to-peer communication between players via community channels, as well as invisible custom channels for players who have the addon downloaded. We highly recommend joining the Overlord Community Discord Server for the best experience. Many groups of players are there, staging high-end-scale battles.
The experience of a full-group assault is reminiscent of the old Southshore battles. Here’s a video of a recent event on NA servers using the addon!
