Slayer's Rise Open World PvP Area and Slayer's Duellum Reputation Guide
The following guide covers the Slayer's Rise Open World PvP area in Midnight, and its faction, the Slayer's Duellum. Learn what you can do in Slayer's Rise, how to raise reputation with the Slayer's Duellum and faction rewards.
Introduction
The Slayer's Rise is an area located in the northern parts of Voidstorm. This area is centered around the conflict between two Domanaar lords who previously fought over control of Slayer's Rise: Vidious, the Domanaar of Grief, and Ziadan, the Domanaar of Hate.
Although Vidious and Ziadan are fuelled by violence and conflict, they have come to an understanding that collaborating between themselves benefits them both more than engaging in war. As such, Slayer's Rise is now used to conduct battle exercises, with the objective of pruning the weak from their forces and honing a battle-hardened army in preparation for the war against Xal'atath.
Both Domanaar have a fascination by the faction war between the Horde and the Alliance. As such, both of them are recruiting the most bloodthirsty members of both factions, to battle against each other in World of Warcraft's latest outdoor PvP playground.
Slayer's Rise and War Mode
Although Slayer's Rise is tailored for War Mode, players can experience the area and its world quests at any point with War Mode off. War Mode is used exclusively to participate in events in Slayer's Rise. You can talk to Vidious or Ziadan at any time in the Master's Perch area to toggle War Mode on or off.
Slayer's Rise Events
Every 30 minutes, a new PvP event will start in Slayer's Rise. These are War Mode exclusive events that will have the Horde and the Alliance facing against each other, much like objectives in battlegrounds.
Void Posts
This event is outside the usual 30 minute timer event of Slayer's Rise. In the zone, there are three Void Posts: One North of the Hate Spire, one East of the Master's Perch, and one North of the Grief Spire.
Players can take over Void Posts by standing near the flags and fending off any attacks by the opposition faction. You can also see on the of your HUD how many Void Posts each faction is currently controlling.
Controlling all 3 Void Posts grants all players of that faction the
Risen Slayer buff,
which gives them 5% increased damage done and 10% increased Honor gains.
Captured Void Event
In this event, players need to siphon Void from a barrel in the Bloodplains area, and bring it to their turn-in point, while preventing the opposite faction from doing the same. While carrying siphoned void, you are unable to mount.
The event last 5 minutes, with the winning faction being the one who scored the most points in that time.
Domanaar Escort Event
In this event, two Domanaar Escorts are rushing towards one objective area, and you must ensure your faction's Escort reaches its objective while preventing the opposition faction's to do the same.
Both Escorts move at the same movement speed, but you can slow them down by attacking them. The
Domanaar Fatigue effect slows their movement speed by 5% every time they're struck by 5
attacks. This effect lasts 10 seconds and stacks, the more that Domanaar is attacked.
To succeed in this event, your faction must assemble a balanced defense force for their Domanaar, while having enough people attacking their Domanaar to ensure it's slowed down.
Ethereal Control Event
In this event, Horde and Alliance players fight over control of three areas around the Shenzar Refinery area. These areas work like control areas in other World Events such as Battle for Wintergrasp and Battle for Nazjatar. As you control an area, you will earn points for your faction.
The event last 5 minutes, with the winning faction being the one who scored the most points in that time.
Ethereal Disruption Event
In this event, players will be able to access Ethereal Tools to harvest
Ethereal Energy.
These are gathered from looting ethereal barrels and lamps and killing opposite faction players.
While gathering tools in the Ethereal Disruption event, you will be affected by Low Gravity,
which gives you a movement speed increased and higher jumps, but prevents mounting of any kind.
Ethereal Energy can be exchanged with Balaak the Twice-Exiled at the Shenzar
Refinery area, for temporary buffs in Slayer's Rise. Each buff costs 100 Ethereal Energy:
Scroll of Fluidity: Your spells and abilities give you a chance to enter a Flow State,
granting 25% haste for 10 seconds. While in Flow State, your spells cannot be interrupted.
Scroll of Elements: Gives your spells and abilities a chance to deal extra Ethereal
damage.
Scroll of Might: Your spells and abilities give you a chance to become Mighty,
increasing Primary Stat by 10%, size by 25% and Critical Strike damage by 10% for 10 seconds.
Scroll of Resistance: When your health drops below 30%, grants a shield that absorbs
damage. Can only occur once every 3 minutes.
Scroll of Town Portal: Teleports you back to Master's Perch. Can only be used in Slayer's
Rise.
Portable Void Zeal: Increases movement speed by 120% for 12 seconds.
Void-Tinged Free Action Potion: Makes you immune to stun and movement impairment effects
for 15 seconds. Does not remove effects already inflicted on the user.
Void Phase Potion: Increases Dodge chance by 100% for 20 seconds.
Void Scavenge Event
In this event, players will obtain more
Void-Tainted Remains from players or remains on
the ground. You will receive on average 2 to 3 times the amount of Void-Tainted Remains from all
sources.
This event is merely a way to complete the quest Collecting Remains faster. This is a repeatable quest that gives 150 Slayer's Duellum reputation for every turn-in of 50 Void-Tainted Remains.
