One of the longest and most frustrating grinds in World of Warcraft, the Balance of Power questline, is back with a vengeance, but now it’s faster than ever, thanks to Legion Remix. If you haven’t completed this questline before, now is the perfect time to earn some of the most unique appearances in the game without the grind.
What’s Different This Time Around?
For players who weren’t around during Legion, Balance of Power unlocks special artifact appearances upon completion. This questline was time-gated, often taking four to six weeks to finish due to low drop rates in the raids. On top of that, players had to push through multiple Mythic dungeons, grind reputations, and complete several storylines to reach the end.
Now that The Nighthold is open in Legion Remix, what once took over a month can now be finished in under a week. Raid drop rates have been massively increased, meaning you can often get everything you need in a single run. The reputation grind is no longer a hurdle either, as Remix constantly showers you with reputation tokens. Some players have become so powerful in Remix that they can even solo Mythic dungeons with ease.
How to Complete Balance of Power in Legion Remix
Legion Remix is a limited-time event, and the Balance of Power questline still requires a fair amount of setup and questing. Legion Remix runs until January 19, 2026, so start early to make sure you finish in time!
Getting Started
There is some uncertainty around exact quest triggers, but finishing these key campaigns and reaching Level 45 should cause an Image of Kalec to appear in your Class Order Hall, offering the intro quest.
- Complete Order Hall Campaign
- Complete Azsuna Campaign
Pick up the “Power Within” quest from Kalec and follow the Balance of Power questline marked with a convenient yellow book symbol. If you lose track, these quests can be found in the quest log under the Artifact section.
Legion Reputation Requirements
You’ll need to reach the following standings as you progress through the questline:
- Reach Honored with Court of Farondis
- Reach Revered with The Nightfallen
- Reach Revered with Valarjar
The fastest way to farm reputation in Legion Remix is by doing world quests. These drop reputation tokens that quickly max out your standings, plus you’ll want to grind world quests for that stylish Sargerei Commander Set along the way.
Required Storylines
You’ll also need to complete these Suramar storylines as part of the questline:
- Nightfall Storyline – Starts with “Khadgar’s Discovery” in Dalaran and Ends with “Ancient Mana“
- Moon Guard Stronghold Storyline – Starts with “Fate of the Guard” in Northwest Suramar and Ends with “Last Stand of the Moon Guard“
Dungeon and Raid Requirements
Throughout the questline, you’ll need to complete:
- Eight Mythic 0 dungeons
- Two raids: Emerald Nightmare and The Nighthold
Keep in mind that in Legion Remix both Mythic 0 dungeons and raids have a daily lockout. Be sure to complete the quest objectives inside each instance before leaving, otherwise you’ll be locked out until the next day.
Many geared Remix players can solo mythic 0 dungeons, but you can also party up with others chasing the same goals. Search or list your group with the keyword “quest” to find others doing Balance of Power dungeons.
Remix Raid Drop Changes
The biggest improvement to Balance of Power in Legion Remix lies in the raid drops that originally made the questline such a grind.
You now only need to collect:
- 10 Corrupted Essence from Emerald Nightmare
- 8 Nightshards from The Nighthold
Both items now have significantly increased drop rates, making it possible to gather everything in a single clear of each raid.
After finishing the objectives in The Nighthold, there is one final quest to complete: empower your artifact weapon. Once done, your new artifact appearances are unlocked. The Balance of Power is an account-wide quest, so you can enjoy these new appearances on any other characters.
