Remielle is strong — like, really strong. Since Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Version 3.1 launched, the newest Void Hunter has quickly established herself as one of the best Agents available. For Anomaly teams, she offers powerful buffs while also contributing significant damage of her own. But while her strength is difficult to argue, some ZZZ players aren’t quite as happy with how that strength is delivered.
According to some in the community, the issue is that there’s surprisingly little for the player to actually do with Remielle once she’s on the team. Remielle spends most of her time off-field, with much of her damage and utility happening semi-autonomously. That is the crux of this community division.
ZZZ Players Are Divided Over Remielle’s Gameplay
Remielle is, for all intents and purposes, an off-field Support. She can enter the field, perform her required actions, and get everything set up, but once that’s done, the optimal strategy is generally to hand control back to her teammates. Optimal play with Remielle actually disables the ability to switch to her, which is a first for a ZZZ agent. Generally, that is where the “cutscene character” criticism has come from, with some players feeling that Remielle’s biggest moments are something they’re simply watching rather than actively playing.

There are plenty of players who don’t have a problem with this at all. Remielle is a Support, after all, and that’s exactly what a Support is supposed to do. Her ability to step onto the field, provide her buffs, and then get out of the way can make her extremely comfortable to use, especially when the rest of the team is doing the heavy lifting. The problem comes for players who expected the newest Void Hunter to have a more substantial on-field role. Remielle can stay on the field and continue attacking, but doing so is generally suboptimal compared to simply letting the rest of the team take over.
That has created a rather unusual split in the community. The ZZZ playbase largely agrees that Remielle is powerful, and there’s little question about her value to Anomaly teams. What they don’t agree on is whether that power is satisfying to use. For some, an extremely effective off-field Support is exactly what they wanted, especially since Yuzuha has been dominating the role since her release in Season 2. For others, though, spending currency on one of Season 3’s newest and most prestigious characters only to spend most of the battle controlling someone else isn’t quite what they had in mind.
