TBC Classic Rogue DPS Phase 2 / Tier 5 Gear and Best in Slot

This is a list of gear that is considered to be the best in each slot.

The BiS list below shows the highest-simming possible setup for Tier 5 as a Rogue. There are other viable options as well within a few DPS of this. Running 4-set with Bloodsea Brigand's Vest outperforms running 4-set with Shoulderpads of the Stranger by a very slight margin. Both are nearly identical in DPS.

If you are starting out as a freshly-leveled Combat Rogue, our pre-raid best in slot list is meant to give you an idea of non-raid items you can chase as a solo / pug player in preparation for raids.

Do note that items from Heroic dungeons or that require Primal Nethers (which are obtained from Heroics) can be harder to get than raid items due to their daily lockout. Some Heroic dungeons are also harder than most of Karazhan. If your character is still progressing through the content of Tier 4 or is ready to take on Tier 6, then you may wish to consult their best in slot lists instead.

The items on this list for Tier 5 include items from raids as well as PvP. If you are unable to acquire a PvP offhand then your next best bet will be to run Latro's Shifting Sword in your offhand.

Early on you should consider making Deathblow X11 Goggles as they will be available with the new phase. Belt of One-Hundred Deaths is going to be your most sought-out item this tier. This item does not get replaced until Sunwell Plateau in Phase 5. It is a massive upgrade over Belt of Deep Shadow, which is itself still a very good item.
