Firewall with Combustion Build Introduction

The FirewallFirewall Sorceress is an endgame build designed for those who enjoy harnessing the power of fire. This build offers high Mana Regeneration, and deals significant Burning Damage over time, making it effective for both Area of Efffect (AoE) and single target encounters.

By incorporating multiple unique sources of Burning damage, CombustionCombustion adds a significant separate damage multiplier. Additionally, the Sorceress can use Flame ShieldFlame Shield and Frost NovaFrost Nova for self-defense when necessary.

This build is currently not as strong as other Sorcerer options, such as Ice Shards or Arc Lash, so proceed with caution.

This endgame build guide assumes your character is at least level 50. Check the Sorcerer Leveling Guide if you need help getting there.

This build was fully tested in pre-release Betas, but is subject to change upon the launch of Diablo 4.

Enchantment Slots

For this Fire Build, equipping FirewallFirewall in the first Enchantment Slot, as it will have a chance to trigger two additional Firewalls underneath enemies when they take burning damage.

For the second Enchantment Slot, equip MeteorMeteor. This Immobilizes enemies and applies another Burning damage source when the Lucky Hit procs.

Paragon

The Paragon progression system unlocks after reaching Level 50, and offers a considerable boost to character power. Within the Paragon Board, there are many different bonuses, ranging from minor stat enhancements on Magic Nodes to more significant gains with Rare Glyphs and Legendary Nodes.

When progressing towards Glyph Sockets and Legendary Nodes, we recommend prioritizing attributes such as Non-Physical Damage, Intelligence, Resistance, and Life for Normal and Magic Nodes. As you level up Glyphs, their effects expand in radius. Therefore, if you are unable to meet Additional Bonus requirements early on, it might be better to skip allocating extra nodes for now.

Below, we have compiled a list of the most beneficial nodes for the Firewall Sorcerer build, ranked by their importance. These rankings assume that all requirements for Additional Bonuses can be met.

Mechanics and Playstyle

This Fire build is focused around powerful Damage Over Time (DoT) from FirewallFirewall. Its damage is enhanced with CombustionCombustion, by applying other Burning sources from Fire BoltFire Bolt, MeteorMeteor, Flame ShieldFlame Shield and InfernoInferno.

With an almost impenetrable defense and unmatched burning damage, the Fire Sorceress can remain relatively stationary during combat. The Flame ShieldFlame Shield skill not only provides excellent protection, but also heals the character.

MeteorMeteor is not equipped on the Skill Bar, but is proc through Meteor Enhancement for another source of Burning damage and Aspect of ControlAspect of Control. When using the InfernoInferno Ultimate, enemies are drawn together, making it easier to burn multiple targets simultaneously. Notably, during Inferno, Pyromancy Skills have no Mana cost.

Damage Rotation

Optimize DPS with the following rotation.

  1. Initiate combat by casting FirewallFirewall under enemies.
  2. Cast Flame ShieldFlame Shield and run through enemies to Immobilize them.
  3. Cast Frost NovaFrost Nova to Freeze enemies.
  4. If needed, use InfernoInferno to group enemies up and freely spam FirewallFirewall.
  5. Spam Fire BoltFire Bolt to regenerate Mana.

Gear Choice and Stat Priority in the Endgame

While adventuring across Sanctuary, make sure to pick up all Rare Item drops that may be upgrades. Additionally, save Legendary Items that have useful aspects in your stash to be used later, or for extracting and imprinting onto well rolled Rare Items.

When comparing weapons of similar item levels, Two-Handed Weapons are generally favored over One-Hand Weapons paired with a Focus, as they benefit from the 100% bonus of the equipped aspect and higher damage per hit.

The following are the affixes to prioritize on gear for FirewallFirewall Sorcerers. They are ranked by their importance. Affixes on the same level have roughly the same importance:
