Build Introduction
Earth and Sky collide with the Landstorm Druid! This is the Dual-Core Landslide
Lightning Storm build sometimes called Lightningslide, Slidestorm or the LSLS druid. Using hard casts of
Landslide with Key passive
Nature’s Fury, this build unleashes high volume of empowered
Lightning Storm in a wide coverage.
This is a throwback build excelling in Infernal Hordes and tailored for that content, and will excel in the rest of open world content. Updates to Nature’s Fury allow the build to shine again. This will be a Human
Petrify version of the build by default.

Quick Navigation
This guide covers everything necessary to get started on the Landstorm Druid, including Skill Tree points, Paragon, Gearing, and Seasonal updates. Jump to the sections you’re looking for here:
Skill Bar and Skill Tree Points
Nature’s Fury will favor triggering a Skill assigned to the Skill Bar. With
Lightning Storm on the Bar, this means more Lightning Storms and fewer Tornadoes.
If you are missing skill points, complete Renown events in each zone. See how these Skills play in the Rotation and Gameplay section.
Druid Class Mechanic – Spirit Boons
Druids unlock powerful Spirit Boon passives, giving offerings to the animal spirits to receive their Blessing. Once fully unlocked, activate the final Boon by Spirit Bonding with one of the four animal spirits to take two passives from that row.
Boon Name | Animal | Effect |
---|---|---|
Gift of the Stag | Deer | Gain 30 Spirit. Gain 10 Spirit Per Second. |
Swooping Attacks | Eagle | Gain 20% Attack Speed. |
Avian Wrath | Eagle | Gain 40% Critical Strike Damage. |
Energize | Wolf | Lucky Hit: Dealing damage has up to a 15% chance to fully restore your Spirit. |
Overload | Snake | Dealing damage with Storm Skills, Lightning Bolts, and Dancing Bolts also applies an additional 20% Poisoning damage over 5 seconds. Lucky Hit: Dealing Poison damage has an up to 35% chance to summon a Lightning Bolt on the target dealing 120% damage. |
Druid’s primary resource is Spirit. See the Spirit Management Section on how to keep casting!

Legendary Aspects
Gear Slots with multiple options are listed in recommended priority. Any slot with a Mythic Unique or Unique Item will include a valid alternative legendary power to use while still leveling and gearing. Combine these with the right stat priorities.
Slot | Aspect | Description |
---|---|---|
Staff | ![]() | Casting a Storm Skill grants your Earth Skills 50-70% Critical Strike Damage for 4 seconds. Casting a Earth Skill increases the Critical Strike Chance of Storm Skills by 10- 15% for 4 seconds. |
Helm | Unique –![]() | Your Earth Skills are now also Werebear Skills and Fortify you for 2-5% of your Maximum Health. |
Chest | Mythic –![]() ![]() | If you haven’t dealt damage in the last 2 seconds, gain Stealth and 40% Movement Speed. |
Gloves | Unique –![]() | Lightning Storm gains 1 additional strike each times it grows. Lightning Storm Critical Strikes cause lightning to strike twice, dealing 60-100% increased damage. |
Pants | Unique –![]() | You deal 10-20% increased damage while Unstoppable and for 5 seconds after. When you become Unstoppable, gain 50 of your Primary Resource. |
Boots | Unique –![]() ![]() | Casting a Skill has a 40-60% chance to trigger a Non-Mobility, Non-Ultimate Skill that is currently on Cooldown. Can only occur once every 8 seconds. |
Amulet | ![]() | Your Core Skills deal up to 35-75% increased damage based on your amount of Fortify. |
Ring | Unique – ![]() ![]() | Casts of Landslide leave behind Tectonic Spikes that deals Physical damage over 2 seconds. Spawning a Landslide pillar within Tectonic Spikes has a 20-30% chance to spawn two instead. |
Ring | Mythic –![]() ![]() | Spending your Primary Resource reduces the Resource cost of your Skills and increases your damage by 10% for 3 seconds, up to 50%. |
Staff is chosen for its attack speed. The damage over time inherent on Staff will not be much value, but most weapon inherent affixes are low value additives. If another 2 handed weapon type has better gear affixes rolled on it, use that instead.

Stat Priority and Tempering Affixes
Each line of affixes is listed in order of importance, and some alternatives are given. The bolded affixes are the most important targets for Masterworking upgrades. Check the Tempering guide and Masterworking guide for more details about these topics.

Armor cap is 1000 for up to 85% Physical Damage Reduction.
Non-seasonal players without access to free Critical Strike Chance from Purge the Infected Chaos Perk can exchange Offensive tempers for Storm Finesse – Storm Critical Strike Chance.
Chance for Landslide Projectiles to Cast Twice caps in usefulness at 100% total chance between your weapon temper and Earthbreaker.
After gearing, look at progression systems like Paragon next.
Uniques and Mythic Uniques
The following Unique Items are recommended for the Landstorm Druid.
Gathlen’s Birthright gives strong affixes for a Human build, periodically granting access to additional Key Passives
Perfect Storm and
Earthen Might. Because of the volume of Critical Strike attacks Landstorm puts out, downtime to charge Anima of the Forest will be minimal.
Unsung Ascetic’s Wraps boost
Lightning Storm, causes the storm to grow faster and sends an empowered double strike on Critical Strike.
Tibault’s Will gives high damage reduction while Unstoppable, which will be up frequently thanks to
Enhanced Earthen Bulwark. This is also a solid source of Spirit as necessary.
Yen’s Blessing has favorable gear affixes and its unique affix will give occasional casts of our useful Defensive Skills. This is a flexible option with just a standard Legendary Boots with
Aspect of Metamorphosis which would grant another Unstoppable source for
Tibault’s Will. Seasonal Characters can easily swap this out for a Chaotic Armor of their choice.
Earthbreaker is a flex choice. While the affixes for Earth Attack Speed and Chance for extra Landslide Projectiles are strong, the unique affix extra landslides no longer trigger extra Nature’s Fury chances for Lightning Storms. It is possible this could be swapped out if your Attack Speed is already high and you have good Masterworks on your dagger’s chance to cast twice.
Mythic Unique Items
Shroud of False Death +1 to all Skill Passives is exceptionally strong, as it is for all builds. The large All Stats category will also complete many Paragon Rare Node Secondary Bonuses.
Gems and Runewords
The following are the recommended Gem and Runeword setups for the Landstorm Druid:
Gems
Weapon Gems | Armor Gems | Jewelry Gems |
---|---|---|
![]() For Increased Critical Strike Damage | ![]() For increased Willpower | ![]() For All Resistances |
Runewords
Use these Runeword combinations for the Landslide Druid, into Armor slots:
Runeword Combination | Effects |
---|---|
Igni Yom | ![]() ![]() |
Ahu Qax | ![]() Lucky Hit: Up to a 100% chance against non-Healthy enemies. ![]() |
Runewords use a conditional Rune of Ritual to generate Offering. The Offering is consumed by the Rune of Invocation to trigger its effect. Runes replace Gems in gear with two sockets. Up to two sets of Runeword Pairs can be placed at a time.
Resource – If you cannot maintain your 3 Stacks of Chaos Perk Overabundance while using Qax, swap it for another option like
Poc
Lum.
Speedfarm – For farm content where Qax is overkill, use
Bac
Jah for mobility.
While leveling and gearing before legendary Runes become accessible, many Magic and Rare runewords such as Gar for Critical Strike Chance will be viable.
Paragon Board
Use these Glyphs, Boards, and pathing for the Landstorm Druid.
The road to max Paragon is long. The above Paragon tabs show the following:
- The BASE SETUP tab spends 50 fewer points than the max 328 points, taking stricter pathing to take all most all Legendary, Rare and Magic Nodes, and activates all Glyph Nodes with their secondary effects.
- The FULL SETUP tab completes the Paragon Board in its final form, filling in the rest of the board to get the rest of the Magic and Rare Nodes, as well as give additional additive bonuses especially within the Glyph areas.
Glyphs have two significant breakpoint increases. At level 15, the glyph grows in radius and gains a special effect. At level 46, the glyph grows to its max radius and gains a strong conditional damage multiplier.
Glyphs are placed as if they are at least level 15+ in radius. Total Boards placed are now limited to a max of 5; the Starter Board and four Class Boards. Rotate boards as necessary.
Season 10 Mechanics
Chaos Perks
Chaos Perks are the latest flavor of seasonal power, offering a selection of one Unique and 3 other powers of any combination. Perks are acquired from Seasonal Reputation or from Bartuc in Infernal Hordes. Here is the recommended setup for the Boulder Druid:
Power | Description |
---|---|
A Beast Cornered | For every 10% Life you are missing, you gain 10-20% increased damage and 5% damage reduction. Spending Resources also drains a percentage of your Life equal to 30% the Resources spent, refunding those Resources. This cannot reduce you to below 10% Life. |
Purge the Infected | Your Core Skills also apply 100-200% of their Base damage as Poisoning over 4 seconds. Dealing direct damage to a Poisoned enemy spends 5 Spirit to be a guaranteed Critical Strike that deals 30-60% increase damage. |
Overabundance | Every 100 Spirit you generate above your Maximum increases your damage by 50-100% for 5 seconds. This bonus stacks up to 3 times, but does not refresh. |
Marred Guard | You can no longer be healed above 50% Life. You gain 5-10% Maximum Resistance to All Elements, 10-20% Armor, and 50-100% increased Barrier and Fortify Generation. |
If the Spirit Drain from Purge the Infected is too high to maintain 3 Overabundance stacks, drop Qax for
Lum.
Marred Guard sets your health to max 50%. This means A Beast Cornered will always have at least 5 stacks.
Chaos Armors
Chaos Armors are a selection of generic and class Unique Items that can drop as empowered versions in any Armor Slot besides their native slot. For example, a ChaoticFists of Fate could drop as helm, chest, pants and boots. These items open many possibilities but have a very large pool of items with low drop rates and are untradable, meaning a perfect setup may take a while and many combinations will be effective in the meantime.
For the Landstorm Druid, many slots are locked; Helm keeps Gathlen’s Birthright, Chest keeps
Shroud of False Death and Gloves keep
Unsung Ascetic’s Wraps.
Tibault’s Will is a strong pick but could be swapped if your Spirit and Damage Reductions are acceptable without it. This leaves:
- Boots as the best slot
- Chest before Mythic
- Maybe Pants
Here’s the best options for Chaos Armors in order:
Fists of Fate – Great affixes and a solid multiplier including Lucky Hit that will help trigger Energize Spirit Boon and keep Spirit Generation high for Overabundance. Mastercraft the Lucky Hit.
Airidah’s Inexorable Will – A good option for extra casts of
Petrify and gathering enemies. Mastercraft the Willpower%.
Earthbreaker – Empowering the Unique Affix does not increase rate of
Nature’s Fury Lightning Storms but it does open an offensive aspect slot on ring. Mastercraft the Chance for
Landslide to Cast Twice.
Crown of Lucion is a spicy option for a hefty multiplier, but comes at a large Spirit Cost. To use this Chaos Armor, make sure Spirit is well solved and Overabundance Chaos Perk Stacks stay capped. This item does not work with
Mjölnic Ryng. Mastercraft the Lucky Hit Chance.
- For those using
Cataclysm,
Mjölnic Ryng is an acceptable Chaos item to fully solve Spirit. Mastercraft the Ranks to
Endless Tempest.
The Basilisk is a cheeky potential option offering favorable gear affixes and a damage trigger that may be strong enough alongside
Airidah’s Inexorable Will to kill enemies outright. We have a lot of casts of
Petrify going out thanks to
Yom.
Mercenaries
Main Mercenary – Varyana, the Berserker
- Core Skill:
Cleave,
Hysteria,
Bloodthirst,
Bloodlust
Reinforcement – Raheir, the Shieldbearer
Once unlocked, Mercenaries are followers that aid the Player in combat. A main mercenary is chosen to fight alongside you, granting strong buffs or perks, and a secondary Mercenary is chosen to periodically Reinforce you under a chosen Opportunity condition.
Hysteria and Bloodlust will both give strong Attack Speed bonuses. Crater will help group enemies. Other options for Mercenaries are valid, such as Subo’s minimap tracking and Cover Fire, or Raheir for Armor and Resistances as needed.
Build Mechanics
Rotation and Playstyle
The Landstorm Gameplay is straightforward.
- Cast
Landslide to trigger
Nature’s Fury
Lightning Storm.
Supporting Skills apply debuffs, buffs or help generate Spirit.
Petrify grants Spirit, stuns enemies and applies a Critical Strike damage debuff.
Blood Howl heals and grants attack speed.
Earthen Bulwark grants Unstoppable and Barrier. This unstoppable grants Spirit via
Tibault’s Will.
Cyclone Armor is largely passive, granting a defense against non-physical attacks.
- If used, Evading with
Aspect of Metamorphosis can trigger Unstoppable for
Tibault’s Will.
Skills, Support, and Synergies
A significant part of what boosts Lightning Storm damage is the
Nature’s Fury effect that auto-cast triggers from Nature’s Fury have both the Storm Tag and the Earth Tag. This means your Lightning Storm can benefit from high value Passives and Multipliers like:
Earthen Might Key Passive for Critical Strike Damage
Earthen Devastation legendary paragon node Critical Strike Damage
- Skill passive effects for Earth Skills including
Crushing Earth,
Safeguard and
Stone Guard.
- Both parts of
Natural Disaster will separately apply.
- Both parts of
Aspect of Natural Balance will apply.
- If used,
Crashstone Aspect will work against Crowd-Controlled enemies.
Lightning Storm is also boosted by effects like
Unsung Ascetic’s Wraps, granting a double strike on Critical Strike and other generic modifiers like
Aspect of Retaliation.
Poisoned Condition for Envenom is applied with Overload Spirit Boon, Purge the Infected Chaos Perk, and
Sinister Tendrils.
Fortify is built with Safeguard.
This build has no Werebear skills or buff maintenance to worry about, making it simply Unbearable.
Spirit Management
This build can be Spirit-hungry especially when using Seasonal Power Purge the Infected, which eats Spirit for each direct hit to then convert the damage to a Critical Strike with a tidy multiplier on top. We have several ways we manage Spirit:
- Gift of the Stag Spirit Boon for Spirit and Spirit Per Second.
- Energize Spirit Boon to periodically restore Spirit.
Tibault’s Will for periodic Spirit when gaining Unstoppable from
Earthen Bulwark.
- Casts of
Petrify Restore Spirit, including from
Yom.
- Gear Affixes like Spirit Cost Reduction on Weapon.
Ring of Starless Skies grants up to 5 stacks of 10% Spirit Cost Reduction.
- Any gear affixes for Spirit Cost Reduction, Spirit per Second, and Resource Generation
If these are insufficient to keep Casting your Landslides, try one or more of the following:
- Exchange
Qax for
Poc
Lum
- Mastercraft or target more gear affixes with Spirit Cost Reduction, Spirit per Second, and Resource Generation.
- Swap Overload Spirit Boon for Calm Before the Storm.
- Use your evade with
Aspect of Metamorphosis to trigger
Tibault’s Will
- Play with
Cataclysm and
Mjölnic Ryng to solve Spirit entirely (See variant below)
Cataclysm Landstorm
For a damage hit, you can opt to swap Petrify for
Cataclysm. This can be the right choice early on before you get your
Ring of Starless Skies to make Spirit Management and your farm content simpler. To play into this Ultimate:
- Swap ranks in
Petrify for
Cataclysm.
- Use
Mjölnic Ryng. Mastercraft ranks in
Endless Tempest.
- Swap ranks in
Catastrophe for
Endless Tempest.
- Swap Resource tempers for any resource generation or Petrify Cooldown for Cataclysm Cooldown.
- If necessary, use Calm Before the Storm spirit boon.
- Note – There’s also an option to just keep
Petrify and still use
Mjölnic Ryng – your
Nature’s Fury Petrifies will often be casting
Cataclysm anyways!
Elixirs, Incense and Health Potions
The Alchemist offers helpful consumables at the cost of foraged materials found throughout Sanctuary.
- Craft
Elixir of Advantage II for Attack Speed and Lucky Hit bonuses.
- One of each Incense Category can be used, for a total of three active Incenses at a time. In priority:
- Defensive –
Reddamine Buzz for Max Life, or
Song of the Mountain if you need the Armor, up to 1000 armor cap.
- Core Stat –
Blessed Guide for Willpower.
- Resistance –
Soothing Spices for All Resist, All Resist Maximum, and Armor.
- Defensive –
- Upgrade your Potion as you level, increasing the instant healing of the potion!
Season 10 Updates
Where did Landstorm go, and why is it back?
Landstorm suffered a few hits after Season 5:
Earthbreaker Unique Affix extra Landslides no longer triggered
Nature’s Fury after a bug fix.
Thunderstruck got capped to 60%.
This resulted in lower total cast volume and damage for the Lightning Storms triggered from Nature’s Fury. So what has changed to bring this back?
Nature’s Fury now favors Skills that are assigned to the Skill Bar – even if hidden by Grizzly Rage. This means far less Tornadoes, and far more Lightning Storms.
- Chaos Perks and Chaos Armor potential opens a lot of builds to excel in T4 content.
Perfect Storm is available and has changed to be any Storm Skill rather than a hard Cast Storm Skill so will affect Nature’s Fury-triggered Lightning Storms.
Earthen Might has been buffed several times since season 5, including recieving its own Multiplier for Critical Strike Damage.
Unsung Ascetic’s Wraps is nicely buffed.
- Various buffs to Human things like
Gathlen’s Birthright,
Humanity and
Human. Yep, finally a build we can show off the Wardrobe!
Infernal Hordes is once again the season focus so we are bringing back a fan favorite for that content in its own dedicated page. This build is not going to be the highest Pit pusher, but it will be a powerhouse in T4 and open world content.
The following list details the important changes in the Season 10 Patch Updates that are specific to the Landstorm Druid. For general Season 10 information, check out our Season 10 Hub.
Itemization:
Unsung Ascetic’s Wraps – Damage on Critical Hit increased from 10-40% to 60-100%.
Earth and Sky Damage bonus increased from 10% to 18%.
Human
- Previous: 15% damage reduction while in Human form.
- Now: 12% increased damage and Damage Reduction while in Human form.
Skills and Stats:
Perfect Storm
- Previous: Storm Skills that you cast grant 2 Spirit and deal 80%[x] increased damage when damaging a Vulnerable, Immobilized or Slowed enemy.
- Now: Storm Skills deal 80%[x] increased damage and damaging a Vulnerable, Immobilized or Slowed enemy with Storm Skills you Cast grants 2 Spirit.
Lightning Storm Damage reduced from 74% to 65%.
Nature’s Fury – Skills that are on your action bar are now heavily favored to be the skill Triggered.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue where Resonance passive was not granting its bonus to non-Casted Skills.
