Hotfix 3 for Patch 3.0.1 has been deployed for Diablo 4. This patch tackles a major War Plans bug affecting party play and reins in scaling issues with the Sorcerer’s BlizzardBlizzard and the Druid’s Lightning StormLightning Storm, alongside other high-priority balance issues.

The headline fix targets one of the largest pain points in War Plans, a new activity introduced in Lord of Hatred. Party members were intended to receive a base loot cache and 80% of the activity’s XP. However, the cache had been bugged and was failing to drop entirely. Hotfix 3 resolves missing caches, bumps assist XP to 100%, and improves final cache rewards across the board.

The Tower launches today, April 30th. Blizzard is reigning in two over-performing builds ahead of the competitive leaderboards going live. This pre-emptive tuning will help the experience feel fairer for all involved. In the last developer livestream, Blizzard noted that offsetting the Tower’s launch from the season start was an intentional move designed to address balance outliers before leaderboards went live. This strategy appears to be paying off.

HOTFIX 3 – April 29, 2026 – 3.0.1

Developer’s Note: In addition to some QoL fixes, we’re tackling several high profile balance issues ahead of our first Tower rotation.

War Plans

  • Developer’s Note: we’re so happy players are enjoying War Plans, however a common pain point we’ve seen is party play. Right now, when you jump in to help a friend complete a War Plans node, you’re supposed to keep earning rewards and progression. Helpers should get a base loot cache and 80% of the activity’s meta progression XP, so your time still feels worthwhile when playing together.
    • Issue: the cache is currently bugged and is not dropping for players.
    • Fix: this hotfix resolves this issue. It will also:
      • Increase meta progression XP to 100%
      • Improve the final cache rewards

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where the Sepazontec talisman charm did not consistently trigger its third basic skill attack effect.
  • Fixed an issue where equipping a new Seal would cause Charm affixes to not apply until re-equipping the Charm(s).
  • Fixed an issue where Heir of Perdition’s stolen buff could sometimes last longer than intended.
  • Fixed an issue where Iron Skin, Toxic Skin, and Sigil of Flames could result in players damaging allied players.
  • Fixed an issue where Sorcerer’s Blizzard scaled far more than intended with skill point investment.
  • Fixed an issue where Druid’s Lightning Storm with the Omnibolt variant could have infinitely scaling damage.
  • Various stability improvements.
