Blizzard has confirmed in a forum post that the team is currently investigating the drop rate, as well as other issues surrounding Mythics.
Patch 3.1.1 launched earlier this week, with the following fixes aiming to help with the very low drop rate of both Mythics and Iconic Mythics:
- Increased the chance of naturally dropped Mythics being an Iconic Mythic.
- Fixed an issue that was preventing certain sources of Uniques from dropping as Mythic, including Lair Bosses.
However, after spending their Lair Boss Keys, players have realized that the fixes were not enough. While Mythic Uniques have started dropping more frequently, Iconic Mythics are still extremely rare.
It remains to be seen what course of action Blizzard will take or when, but for now the team is looking into it.
