Blizzard has previously rolled out several hotfixes that turned Diablo 4’s Season 14 into a much smoother experience. Now, they have announced another patch that is scheduled for July 28.
Unlike the previous patches, the scope of the upcoming patch is smaller and generally focused on bug fixes. Most of these bugs are small, but there is one major bug that is finally getting addressed.
For the last two seasons, Rogue has been one of the most dominant classes in the game, and that is mostly due to bugs. In Season 14 in particular, this problem has been amplified, with Rogues overwhelming the leaderboards for The Pit and The Tower, two of the game’s most prestigious modes.
The Tower leaderboard at the moment is just one Rogue 150 tier clear after another, and it isn’t much different for The Pit. We have recently covered the best classes on helltides.com in terms of Pit pushing, and Rogues were dominant there as well, with 14 out of the top 15 clears belonging to that class.
The main culprit here is the Rogue’s Dash ability, doing far more damage than intended with the Shadow Play variant.
Bugged classes dominating the leaderboards is a bigger problem than just bragging rights. As Rob2628 explains in one of his latest videos, this has a ripple effect for other classes too, because players can hire Rogues for 150 Pit runs and get their Glyphs maxed out. This, in turn, skews leaderboards completely and puts players who wish to play without bugs and exploits at a disadvantage.
With the upcoming fix to this bugged build, leaderboards should be in a much better state going forward.
Another important note from the patch is that the misleading Upgrade to Mythic Cube recipe is finally getting renamed. Throughout this season, there have been many instances of people using this recipe and thinking it will upgrade their item. Instead, the recipe bricks it by changing it into a different item entirely.
And while the tooltip is quite clear about what the recipe does, its name confused many players because it was labeled an Upgrade despite doing the exact opposite. As a result, the upcoming patch will change the name of this recipe from Upgrade to Craft, providing more clarity on what it actually does.
Last notable change involves Mythics. The patch fixes “an issue where Mythic Unique items could not be recycled” with the Horadric Cube. This is most likely directed at Mythic Seals because other Mythics can already use the Cube’s 3-to-1 recipe.
