It’s been over a week since Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred launched, and the overall reception from the community has been overwhelmingly positive. From the expansion’s story to its new gameplay systems, players haven’t sounded this excited about Diablo 4 in a long time. One of the biggest highlights so far has been the praise surrounding the new War Plans system.
War Plans Are a Huge Success for Diablo 4
Every ARPG fan knows the endgame grind is where players spend most of their time. Since launch, Diablo 4 has struggled to keep that experience engaging, offering only a limited number of activities for players to tackle. But with each new season, Blizzard has steadily expanded and refined the game’s endgame, adding more variety and meaningful progression along the way.
Now, with a wide range of reworked systems and activities available, War Plans has made navigating Diablo 4’s endgame smoother than ever. Whether players want to target farm specific content or simply figure out the most rewarding activity to run, the system has quickly become a favorite among both veterans and newcomers alike.
Room for Improvement

Of course, no system in Diablo 4 is perfect, and there’s always room for improvement. We previously discussed how Blizzard could use War Plans to reintroduce popular mechanics and seasonal gimmicks from past seasons that are no longer available in the game.
While the system has already been a major success, players are still asking for several quality-of-life improvements. One of the biggest requests is making War Plan progress account-wide. Not only would this make the system far more alt-friendly, but it could also encourage players to experiment with classes they may not have tried before.
But of course, there’s more to Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred than just War Plans. Talismans & Horadric Cube are quickly becoming new fan-favorite systems as well. Which is your favorite part of Lord of Hatred so far?
