Diablo 4 Season 10: Infernal Hordes Rework & New Boss Fight

In a recent blog post, Blizzard has announced the theming of Diablo 4 season 10. The new season will be themed around new Chaos systems, including a rework to Infernal Hordes. Here is everything we know so far.

The Fleeting Hordes

Infernal Hordes is getting a fresh update in Diablo 4 season 10. Including a rework to the Infernal Offerings revealed between each Wave, changing the effects of some offerings, adjusting base Monster populations, and more. However, one change players will notice first is the new Fleeting Hordes.

Fleeting Hordes allow players to enter into a modified version of the Infernal Hordes before reaching Torment difficulties. Unlike normal Infernal Hordes, Fleeting Hordes will be 4 waves in total, with limited Infernal Offerings. Upon completing the 4 waves, you’ll fight two Fell Council members, rather than all three members.

Additionally, diminishing returns on Materials and Gold Chests have been removed. But, the Greater Chest of Materials now costs 400 Aether instead of 200, but comes with bonus Obducite and Gold on top of the gear you would normally receive. Plus, Unique items and Legendary Aspects that used to be exclusive to Infernal Hordes have been moved into the general loot pool. So if you aren’t the biggest fan of Infernal Hordes to begin with, you can now find your necessary gear elsewhere.

Chaos Waves

While battling against the Infernal Hordes, players will now occasionally be offered to fight against a Chaos Wave. Chaos Waves completely alter the upcoming wave. These waves will have significantly increased difficulty, but reward far more Aether.

These Chaos Waves will also sport new Chaos Monsters. On top of these monsters likely being stronger and harder to take down, they provide a shrine-like buff when killed. Chaos Waves will also have several different combinations to discover and master. Dodge deadly projectiles from Chaos Rifts, slaying rampaging Hellwyrms, or hunting down erratic Aether Goblins. Chaos awaits!

Bartuc, the Warlord of Blood

Instead of fighting off against the Fell Council, players can choose to risk their hard-earned Aether and fight against the newly reborn Bartuc to complete their Infernal Hordes run. Each member of your party will need to spend Aether to fight the infamous Vizjerei, Bartuc, previously known as the Warlord of Blood.

Perhaps this is just the spice that Infernal Hordes needs. Perhaps this is the start of a pattern of Blizzard going back and revamping their older Diablo 4 systems, especially since they recently did this with Nightmare Dungeons.
