Diablo 4 Season 14 Mythic Crafting May Be Worth Waiting On

Miril Avatar by Miril

Blizzard has confirmed that a patch is coming next week to address concerns with Season 14 via their Diablo Partner program. The initial reception to the season has been very mixed, with many pain points sticking out, such as Mythics 3.0 and their acquisition.

The Issues with Mythics 3.0

Season 14 has introduced a new way to acquire Mythic Uniques via the Horadric Cube, which are tagged as “Crafted”, and only one can be equipped at a time. While the initial expectation was that only the Mythics crafted via the Cube would count as Crafted, other methods of acquiring Mythics, such as from the Blacksmith and Jeweler, also inherit the “Crafted” tag. This vastly limits the options of acquiring and using Mythic Uniques.

This method of crafting Mythics is also suffering from heavy RNG, as the Mythic crafted will be a random one of the same slot as the item that was put in. Depending on the Class and slot, the number of options could make getting the right Unique very frustrating.

Compared to previous seasons, the drop rate of Iconic Mythic Uniques has also been lowered, making important build items such as Harlequin Crest, Ring of Starless Skies, and others harder to find.

Hold on to Lair Keys and Resplendent Sparks

While Blizzard has not provided any specifics yet, it might be worth holding on to Lair Keys as the drop rate of Iconic Mythic Uniques might be buffed. Additionally, the issue with Blacksmith / Jeweler Mythic Uniques receiving the “Crafted” tag could be removed, so it might be worth holding on to any Resplendent Sparks for crafting after the patch, in case it is not retroactive.
