Is Diablo 4 Season 10 Finally Going to Make Boss Farming Fun Again?

Andariel Immunity Phases might finally be a thing of the past. Season 10 PTR fixes annoying immunity moments during boss fights.

One of the most frustrating parts of Diablo 4‘s endgame might finally be getting a fix! The Season 10 PTR has been live since yesterday, and players who are already busy testing have noticed that Uber bosses seem to have had a big change – one that could make fights feel a lot more fluid.

What Changed in the Season 10 PTR?

There is generally a lot happening during new Season PTR phases, but right now, a new post on Reddit is hyping up the community, hinting at one of the biggest changes of Season 10! It seems like the Boss immunity is (sort of) removed!

You can take a look at the thread here:

Indeed, “Uber” Bosses, now known as greater Lair Bosses, no longer seem to have those annoying forced immunity phases. Instead, it looks like they gain a small barrier briefly, but it can be melted down quickly if you have enough damage. This includes the following bosses:

So far, it is unknown if the other lair bosses received a similar change or not. As one PTR tester put it:

“Thank God I’m not trying to one-shot them – that forced phase was dumb. I stand around waiting on the immunity phases more than actually fighting the boss.”

This seems like a small but important change. Previously, those invulnerable phases often slowed down fights and added artificial difficulty. Now, it looks like Blizzard is letting player skill and DPS actually be viable.

It also shows that the devs are finally listening, as this was a feature asked for by many players over the years, especially for fights like Andariel.

Season 10 PTR – Community Reactions

So far, Reddit reactions have been overwhelmingly positive regarding the upcoming Season for Diablo 4. Many players agreed that forced immunity phases added nothing to the fights, just frustration. Comments ranged from simple relief to deeper discussions about the current endgame.

A few players noted that this could also be the first step towards more challenging boss encounters, without relying on artificial mechanics:

“If they stick with this, boss fights could finally feel fast, tense, and rewarding – without artificial pauses slowing the action.”

What This Could Mean for Endgame

It is still unclear if this change will apply to all bosses or if it is just PTR testing, but the signs are rather promising. Removing forced immunity phases will:

  • Speed up Uber/Greater Lair boss fights
  • Reduce downtime and frustration for high-DPS players
  • Keep difficulty tied to mechanics and strategy, rather than arbitrary invulnerability

Endgame boss farming in Diablo 4 might finally feel as fun and intense as players hoped when they first tried it out!
