Well met, Warriors of Light! Final Fantasy XIV‘s Patch 7.55 has just dropped and the Phantom Weapons can finally be completed. However, you’ll need to first complete a one-time turn-in quest before you may begin the refining process. The quest, Under No Illusion, requires four items, three of which must be crafted. While you could purchase from the market board, save yourself some gil!
If you’d like to try your hand at crafting them yourself, read on to find the requirements and the best rotations at various levels of gear.
Preparing the Four Items for Gerolt

Gerolt tasks the Warrior of Light to procure four items before we can start refining our Phantom Weapon. The Monarch Whetstone is purchased from Goplu in Tuliyollal (X:13.1 Y:12.7) for 500,000 gil. The next three items are the Ancestral Alloy Ingot, Ascendant Twine, and Majestic Polish.
Each section below will list the crafting jobs that can craft each item. Remember that you’ll need to have read the Master Recipe XII tome for your chosen Disciple of the Hand. These can be obtained by exchanging 1200 Purple Crafters’ Scrips at a Scrip Exchange NPC (Solution Nine (X:9.1 Y:13.3), for example).
Ancestral Alloy Ingot
Blacksmiths, Armorers, and Goldsmiths can craft the Ancestral Alloy Ingot. You’ll need Fire and Earth Clusters (x3 each), and the following legendary gathering node materials:
| Material Name | Location | Time Window (Eorzea Time) |
| Dense Aluminum Ore x4 | Heritage Found (X:23.3 Y:27.9) | 10:00 to 12:00, and 22:00 to 00:00 |

Crafting Rotations

Finally, when everything has been freshly gathered or was previously hoarded, you may begin crafting. Make sure to check our Crafter DoH Endgame Meld sets if you need help gearing! Note that the crafting recipes share the same difficulty and quality requirements as the Patch 7.4 35 durability items (the ones used in the Courtly Lover’s recipes). You must hit max quality to successfully craft the item.
Budget Tier Rotation
Please be aware that hitting consistently 100% quality with the budget gear set is impossible. You’ll need to rely on at least a single good proc to hit the required quality.
