HoYoverse just dropped the new official character trailer for Genshin Impact‘s upcoming character Varka, and it is probably one of the best trailers they ever released.
In the short clip, Varka basically skips out on his grandmaster duties at the Knights of Favonius headquarters, with Klee as his little sneaky helper, and heads straight to Mondstadt’s local bar to have a drink with Venti. Once she catches up to him, Jean mutters, “Did the wind lead you to the bar again?” a cheeky nod to Barbatos himself, obviously guiding the way.
A Love Letter to Mondstadt
It is a trailer full of little touches for longtime Mondstadt fans. Diona, Klee, and Fischl are all infusing Varka’s Claymore with their elements, cameo appearances from Timmy’s pigeons, Sebas the cat, and even the fish claymore is suddenly getting lore.
Players are calling it “a love letter to Mondstadt” and “the most fun character trailer so far,” highlighting how HoYoverse managed to balance humor, fan service, and story in under three minutes.
Fans are already dissecting every frame: the horses, the ruins, the meme references, and even the animations of Noelle and Razor through Varka’s eyes.
Between the high-quality animation, the inside jokes for those who love the lore, and the absolute chaotic energy of Varka dodging paperwork, this trailer does more than introduce a character. It feels like coming home to Mondstadt. And for those who have been playing since the launch of the game, it is really heartwarming to come back where it all started.
