Diona Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact

Strengths

• Very good Cryo Battery.
• Easy to build since she scales mostly on HP.
• Good support, her shield is strong if you invest in it.
• Powerful C6 which buffs the team's Elemental mastery.

Weaknesses

• Low damage, to be mostly played as an off-field Support.
• Very slow Cryo application.
• Requires a lot of Energy.

Diona provides a decent amount of shields, a solid heal, and she is also a very good Cryo battery for other characters. She is a great support, but she lacks personal damage. This is why you will want to build her as an off-field Support only.

For Diona's Support build, Sacrificial Bow is the best choice. It provides Diona with some nice Energy Recharge and the high possibility to reset her shield, allowing her to put her shield up more often. The other weapon choices will either cover her Energy Recharge requirements, or increase her HP, which will increase her shield and heal efficiency!

For this Support build, you want to use Noblesse Oblige for Diona. It provides solid buffs for her teammates. Combined with the Sacrificial Bow, you should be able to trigger the buff every rotation. If another character in your team already wears Noblesse Oblige, you can go for a 2pc Tenacity of the Millelith and 2pc Emblem of Severed Fate for some HP and Energy Recharge to buff her shields.

Diona's support build focuses on her shielding and healing, which both scale on HP, so you want to focus HP stats. Diona needs a lot of Energy Recharge as well. You want to aim for around 170% or more if you want to Burst every rotation.

Diona is mainly used as an off-field support, which means she will mostly only be brought on-field to apply shields using Icy Paws. You will want to hold the skill down to activate the shield in order to get the additional 75% damage absorption bonus. Holding the skill will create a much better shield.

When you bring Diona on the field, you will also want to use her Burst Signature Mix before switching to another character. Her burst puts down a Cryo AoE that will deal damage and heal your characters at the same time, if you stay in the Area of Effect. The AoE is also great for triggering Elemental Reactions.

As we have previously mentioned, Diona is best used as a support for her shield and heal. This gives her various team possibilities, as she can fit into basically any team that can have the use of a shield. We will focus on team examples that revolve around also using Diona's Burst to trigger elemental reactions, while she shields and heals your other teammates.

A Freeze team helps crowd control your enemies, and deals some great Cryo AoE damage. You will want to use a Cryo Main DPS with a Hydro Sub-DPS or support and then Diona for her shield and heal. Adding an Anemo character such as Kaedehara Kazuha, Venti, or Sucrose for the RES Shred and grouping.

This Razor team is a great mix of Elemental Reactions, shielding and some limited healing. Diona's Cryo element works well combined with Xingqiu's Hydro abilities to Freeze most enemies. Razor and Fischl's Oz will allow Superconduct and Shatter reactions to trigger. Overall, this is a very simple playstyle; keeping Oz out on the field with Razor and using Xingqiu and Diona's ability combo to Freeze enemies. Diona will keep the entire team shielded at the same time.

This team is a variant of Hyperbloom teams. Diona will make use of the Hydro application to trigger Freeze, while the Electro, Hydro, and Dendro units will interact to trigger massive Hyperbloom reactions and deal huge damage. At the same time Diona will provide a shield and heal, while also helping with crowd control.
