Thanks to the generous amount of free rolls at launch, it will not take long for any player to reach 50 rolls. So naturally, that begs the question: “who’s the best NTE standard character to choose?” This guide will give a short overview of the 6 standard characters in NTE, as well as a recommendation for who you might want to select. Always remember that the most important factor is your own enjoyment and selecting who you’ll have fun playing.
Who are the Standard S Rank Characters in NTE?
NTE is launching with six Standard S rank characters: Sakiri, Baicang, Hathor, Fadia, Daffodill, and Jiuyuan. Together they cover 5 of the 6 available Esper attributes, only excluding the Cosmos Attribute which the main character Zero uses. Check out who these characters are below:
Sakiri
Sakiri is an S rank Incantation Esper who can control enemies and buff her team’s attack damage.
- Her Skill can draw in Enemies and knock them down
- Her Ultimate deals AOE Incantation damage and stops non-boss enemies from moving for a short period of time
- Her passive skill increases the rest of the team’s attack after she uses her ultimate
Baicang
Baicang is an S rank Incantation Esper whose kit is built around applying Power Words to enemies. In exchange, he also reduces his own HP and uses those words for damage in his Ultimate.
- His Basic Attack applies Power Word Bless on enemies
- His Redirect Skills apply Power Word Silence or Objurgate on enemies
- Ultimate executes low health enemies and triggers the different power words. This deals Incantation damage to enemies, and applies Bless healing on himself
Hathor
Hathor is an S rank Lakshana Esper who builds up Express Delivery Power to buff herself during her Ultimate state.
- Her Critical Riposte, Passive Skill, and Redirect Skill all create Express Delivery Power through their use
- Her Ultimate enters the Emergency Delivery state, increasing movement speed and attack based on her Express Deliver Power
- Her Ultimate also upgrades her Redirect Skill to deal rapid combo damage
Faida
Fadia is an S rank Psyche Esper who provides team survivability by taking on some of the damage other team members would receive, as well as reflecting some of it back to the enemies.
- She takes a portion of the damage team-members receive as long as she is above 1 HP
- Her Skill reflects some of the damage she receives onto the enemies around her
- Her Ultimate allows Fadia to enter Lilith state, dealing Mental damage and restoring her own HP
Daffodill
Daffodill is an S rank Chaos Esper who specializes in breaking enemies to stun them and increasing the damage they take.
- Her Basic Attack increases her break damage contribution to enemies
- Her Redirect Skill increases her attack and break bonus when a team-member uses a support skill
- Her Ultimate inflicts Insight, which increases the break enemies take. It also unlocks her Phantom Step Parry attack, dealing increased damage and break
Jiuyuan
Jiuyuan is an S rank Anima Esper who creates lethal rose pacts on enemies and shoots rose pack bullets at those marked enemies.
- Her Basic Attack and Redirect Skill marks enemies with Lethal Rose Pacts and grants her Rose Pack Bullets
- Holding her Basic Attack button fires Rose Pack Bullets at enemies, dealing increased damage to any with Lethal Rose Pacts.
- Her Ultimate deals AOE Anima damage and causes marked enemies to enter a state where Rose Pact Bullets deal increased damage
Which Free Standard Character Should You Pick in NTE?
While all of them are valuable characters to have for your teams, only two of them stick out as great early picks if you want the most team utility: either Sakiri or Daffodill.
Sakiri is a great support character who works well with most teams. She both buffs attack and acts as crowd control, making her a highly versatile choice to add to your roster.
Daffodill, on the other hand, is another great support option for most teams as a break character, helping you stun enemies for extra damage. In addition, Daffodill is an important character for enabling Scorch, Nova, and Discord Esper cycle reactions. Currently, Chaos is the only Esper attribute without an announced A Rank option at launch, making those cycles more exclusive than others.
The choice is ultimately yours, and even with NTE doing away with the traditional 50/50 system that most Gachas have, you can expect to obtain every standard character through the standard banner eventually!
