Escape from Tarkov fans have finally received some answers about the upcoming Steam release. Players will need to buy a new copy of the game to play on Steam, regardless of whether they already have an account or not.
Tarkov on Steam

To play Escape from Tarkov through Steam, you must purchase any edition of the game on Steam. Afterwards, you can link your existing Battlestate Games account with an active copy of the game to your Steam profile. If your Battlestate Games account is already upgraded to a higher edition, your Steam version will automatically use the higher edition when launching through Steam.
If you decide to switch to Steam after playing Escape from Tarkov for years on the Battlestate launcher, you will sync a lot of your account data. Your profile, character, and achievements are stored on your Battlestate Games account, so by linking it to Steam, your progress will be intact.
Will Escape From Tarkov Now Have Different Servers?
With 1.0 on the horizon and Tarkov’s Steam release almost here, fans have been wondering if there will be separate servers for those who play on Steam and those who don’t. Regardless of where you choose to play Escape from Tarkov, you will play on the same servers as everyone else.
What Is the Point of Playing on Steam?

For the majority of the fanbase, is there really a point in playing on Steam? So, unless you really just enjoy the ease of playing through Steam, or you’ve never played Escape from Tarkov before, there isn’t a huge incentive to switch platforms.
