A mysterious keybinding file, a cryptic ResetEra post, and a newly re-registered domain all point toward “Warcraft Forever.” Are we looking at the final name of Classic+ or just an elaborate coincidence?
Warcraft Forever Keeps Appearing
In today’s 12.1.5 PTR client, community dataminer Stiven found a file called DefaultForeverBindings.wtf, which apparently favors legacy-style action-bar and combat controls. It also includes a variable called TOGGLELEGACYSYSTEM and seemingly doesn’t include several modern features such as housing and ping bindings.

This file could indicate multiple things: a stripped-back WoW mode (for consoles?), a Classic-related project, or simply an internal test profile – but it definitely confirms that Blizzard is using the term “Forever” internally somewhere.
The ResetEra Leak
Shortly before the datamine of today’s Retail WoW patch, a ResetEra discussion revolved around reports of several Warcraft projects. The poster lolilolailo, whom community members regard as a Microsoft insider, responded with the conspicuous line: “Warcraft is Forever.” This makes it an intriguing correspondence.

WarcraftForever.com Was Re-Registered
The third puzzle piece is warcraftforever.com, a domain that was registered on September 2, 2026, through Cloudflare Registrar. As you might’ve expected, its registrant information is redacted.

What’s particularly interesting, though, is that this is not a historically new domain. In fact, Wayback records show it existed as early as 2002, and it hosted an unrelated Warcraft merch site back in 2021. What turns this into the most speculative of the puzzle pieces is the fact that Blizzard usually uses MarkMonitor and not Cloudflare to register established core domains.
Warcraft Forever “And Beyond”
With Classic+ being the top contender for a new Warcraft title due to the recent activities related to Patch 1.60 and Project Camelot, Blizzard’s recent public language tells all kinds of tales about what Warcraft Forever could actually be.
Back in February 2025, the company said it was “laying foundations for Warcraft’s next 20 years – and beyond!” In gaming terms, that basically equals forever. Holly Longdale also described the Warcraft IP as underutilized and said Blizzard has a “bigger vision than simply being an MMORPG,” so we might be looking at something totally new in the Warcraft space. Ultimately, only BlizzCon may be able to paint the full picture, which we are looking forward to more than ever!
