Quests Do Not Reward Gold at Level 60 in WoW Forever

While a vast majority of players are still leveling from 1-40, some players have already reached level 60. One major revelation from those that already hit max level is that quests do not reward additional gold instead of experience at level 60, like they did in Classic.

The above screenshot is from a clip of JokerdTV‘s stream, where he says that he has been in direct contact with Blizzard developers who confirmed that this is an intentional change.

Why Does This Matter?

In Classic, completing quests at max level was a great way of earning gold if you didn’t want to engage in professions or the Auction House. This removes a reliable avenue for farming gold for all players, and we are yet to see an official statement from Blizzard addressing this.

This is only in relation to quests at 60 rewarding additional gold instead of experience. Normal gold rewards from quests are still in place.

With this change, players will be left to look for other avenues to make gold. Farming for materials with gathering professions is still a very valuable method, and it’s very likely that selling materials that drop in high-level dungeons will also be a profitable approach.
