With the most recent update of the WoW: Forever Beta, Blizzard made some improvements to the way that the Camping system works. Now, while waiting for their Campfire buffs, players can cast buffs on each other, craft Profession items, or use other emotes.
WoW Forever Beta Development Notes – Updated September 24
- Fixed an issue where attempting to craft items or cast spells was causing players to stand up while waiting to obtain their Campfire buff.
- Players may now buff each other, cast, and craft while waiting for their Campfire buffs.
- Players may now obtain a Campfire buff if they are sitting, sitting in a chair, sleeping, lying down, or using the kneeling emote.
While these changes are great, there is one other feature that players are asking for regarding Campfires – an easier way to find them! Unless you see a Campfire right in front of you, the only indication that one is close is when players receive the “Campfire Nearby” buff.
This is nice, but players are asking for an even easier way to see which direction a Campfire is placed, in relation to their characters. Some have suggested adding a smoke trail that would make them easier to spot.
With this addition, players would be able to follow the billowing smoke signals to their nearest campfire and contribute their offerings. Others have suggested including a Campfire icon on the minimap to make finding Campfires easier. Whichever way Blizzard chooses to handle this, it is a great indication that people are enjoying this new Campfire system, if so many people are asking for easier ways to find them!
