Blueprints are finally hitting servers in Patch 12.1! Here’s a deeper look into WoW’s new import/export system for Player Housing.
Blueprints in Player Housing
Patch 12.1 is introducing the Blueprints system for Player Housing. Players will be able to share/save the layouts for the interior/exterior of their homes. Whether you want to save your house before a fresh start, or import a cool build shared by a friend, Blueprints have you covered!
The new Blueprints UI can be accessed through the Housing Dashboard, where players can see their saved Blueprints. Players will have access to 50 save slots. These Blueprints will display interior budget, room placement budget, pet placement, and exterior budget information to ensure your house level meets the requirements.
The list of placed furnishings can also be viewed, and filtered by missing items only. Blueprints can still be imported with missing items, these furnishings will just not be placed.
When saving a Blueprint, players will be able to choose between saving the layout of the interior/exterior only, current room, or the full layout.
Limitations to the System
There are some limitations to this system, however:
- If you try to import a Blueprint with a higher budget than your house allows, the import process will not complete.
- If you import a Blueprint that is then deleted by the creator, you will not be able to re-use the same code. Make sure to save any imported builds as your own Blueprints if you like them!
The House Settings and Permissions tab has a new addition also, with an Export category. This category seems to limit who will be able to use your builds by neighbours, guild members, friends, and party, though this feature does not seem to be fully implemented on the PTR just yet.
