HoYoverse has officially turned its attention toward what’s next. The developer has revealed Claret Flint as the first new Agent arriving in Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) Version 3.2, and while her debut was widely expected, one detail immediately caught the community’s attention.
Rather than displaying one of ZZZ’s existing Agent class icons, as reveals tend to, Claret’s official reveal appears to feature an entirely new one. If that’s the case, Version 3.2 could introduce yet another major gameplay evolution, continuing Season 3’s trend of bringing something entirely new to ZZZ with each update.
Claret’s Reveal May Be Introducing a Brand-New Agent Class
Every Agent currently available in ZZZ belongs to one of the game’s established combat roles. Claret, however, appears alongside a completely unfamiliar class icon, one HoYoverse has yet to explain. Whether it’s an entirely new role or something more specialized remains to be seen, but either way, it’s already become one of the biggest talking points surrounding Version 3.2.
If Claret is indeed the first member of a brand-new class, she’d continue a pattern that’s already defined Season 3. Version 3.0 introduced the Wind element through Velina, while the now-live Version 3.1 followed that up with Remielle’s unique Lumiflux element.
The Flint Family’s Importance Continues to Grow
Claret’s last name, Flint, is deeply intertwined with the game’s lore, particularly when it comes to the legendary Void Hunters. In the story of Version 3.0, it was established that the Flint Workshop, the specific organization Claret belongs to, is responsible for forging most of the Void Hunter-class weapons. It’s also worth noting that Agent Pyrois exists in the first place thanks to the Flint family, specifically their unique metal, Flint Porcelloy. This makes Claret’s role in Season 3’s story already highly significant.
Claret is the first Agent announced for Version 3.2, which means there’s likely a second one to be revealed in the near future. If we return to the Season 3 character teaser HoYoverse released prior to Season 3’s debut, we can see several likely playable Agents showcased in pairs. Claret was shown together with Roxy, and that is who the ZZZ community is expecting to be announced shortly. This is merely speculation, however, and it remains to be seen who truly ends up as Claret’s banner partner in Version 3.2.
