With Norma set to release in Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ) on July 8, the community has already been comparing her to existing stunners, most notably Dialyn. Discussion about the two characters has been ongoing for a while, but it has accelerated because Norma is already playable in the new Annihilation Simulacrum endgame mode, which was introduced in Version 3.0
At this stage, the conversation is mostly about where Norma might fit into the current roster once she’s fully available, and whether she can carve out a space alongside Dialyn, arguably the benchmark among Stunner options.
Dialyn Is Looking to Remain the Consistent All-Round Pick
In most early impressions, Dialyn is still sitting comfortably at the top of the Stunner food chain as the more reliable, general-purpose option. Players point to her overall effectiveness as a major reason, because she can step into a wide range of team comps without needing specific setup conditions.

Much of that comes from her exceptional Daze application and ability to enable potent burst windows and let teammates use their Ultimate abilities, outside of ZZZ’s standard ruleset.
Such flexibility is still her biggest advantage. She is widely considered to be the strongest option in an overwhelming number of situations, which makes her the default pick for a lot of players when building teams.
Norma’s Value May Be More Situational
Where things get more interesting is Norma’s potential niche. Early discussion suggests she may not be able to compete with Dialyn on raw universal value, instead offering a stronger performance ceiling in more specific setups, such as in teams that lean heavily on Chain Attack frequency and faster rotational cycles.

Agents like Pyrois, Evelyn, and Starlight Billy, are being discussed as examples of main DPS carries that could benefit more from Norma’s unique ability to allow Chain Attacks to be used outside of Stun windows. Even sub-DPS Agents like Orphie and Magus are being brought into the conversation, because their off-field damage could allow Norma to remain on-field without losing overall team effectiveness.
The idea isn’t that she replaces Dialyn outright, but that she may outperform her in the right context. For now, that’s the key split in the community sentiment: Dialyn remains the safe, generalist option, while Norma is being watched closely as a potential stronger specialist pick once players get to test her outside preview conditions.
