Operation Bagel has brought plenty of new challenges to Zenless Zone Zero (ZZZ), but it has also created an interesting opportunity for some of the game’s older Agents. One Agent in particular, Caesar King, has suddenly found herself in an unusually strong position thanks to one very simple thing: her cozy shield safety net. Put frankly, it doesn’t care about most of what Operation Bagel throws at you, and some players are starting to take notice.
Operation Bagel asks players scavenge their surroundings and extract with as much loot as possible, first and foremost. Failing a run can mean losing the gear you’ve collected, making survival a much bigger part of the equation than it is in most of ZZZ’s other endgame content.
Caesar Has a Real Use Case in Operation Bagel
Caesar’s shield is particularly valuable here, because it provides a straightforward layer of protection. Players no longer need to play around the various debuffs and mechanics found inside Operation Bagel. If players can keep her shield active, it can absorb a huge amount of punishment that would otherwise threaten to end a run. Most importantly, it prevents one-shot kills from occurring, as even a blow strong enough to put down Caesar’s shield cannot touch an Agent’s health pool if the shield was still up. That’s useful when a death can turn an otherwise successful extraction into a total loss.

This doesn’t suddenly make Caesar the best Agent in Operation Bagel, though. By all respects, Caesar is technically a handicap in terms of loot gathering. Why? Well, damage is still valuable because the faster enemies can killed, the more loot is available. This is especially true on higher difficulties, where bosses can drop some of the most valuable loot in the mode. Caesar does make runs more comfy, but at the cost of slower loot gain due to lower overall team damage output. It is a trade-off players must make when deciding to use her.
It’s also a fun reminder of just how differently an Agent can perform when the rules of the game change. Caesar has been around for a long time, and she’s hardly the newest or flashiest character in the roster anymore. Yet Operation Bagel has created an environment where one of her oldest strengths suddenly matters a whole lot more.
For players struggling to survive the mode’s tougher encounters, Caesar King may be one of the best reasons to look backward before immediately reaching for ZZZ’s newest Agents. After all, no amount of DPS matters if all your Agents die before crossing the finish line.
