"That won't do, Captain! Unless you want to wake up tomorrow with pink holsters!"
"Tch... Get me two boxes of gun oil and I'll pretend I didn't see anything."
"Thanks Captain! You want the Nitro-Fuel flavored ones again, right?"

Orphie & Magus's Best in Slot Guide
Orphie & Magus's Energy Regen Requirement
Unlike most Agents who want a stat threshold, Orphie & Magus wants Energy Regen, which cannot come from Disc substats. However, reaching the maximum additional ATK from Core Passive: Taming Wind and Fire's Zeroed In is very easy as long as you follow the Drive Disc guide. You might also be receiving Energy Regen bonuses from Squad Agents or Bangboo, so getting Energy Regen as a W-Engine main stat is not very important.
Best W-Engine for Energy Regen: Bellicose Blaze
However, the best W-Engine currently available is none other than Orphie & Magus's Signature W-Engine: Bellicose Blaze. This W-Engine not only provides the most Energy Regen for a W-Engine, but its effect is also heavily tailored for Orphie & Magus's preferred gameplay style.
If you want Energy Regen alternatives, you can also consider either Drill Rig - Red Axis or Housekeeper. They both perform about the same at any investment level, so it just depends on your account. Notably, Drill Rig - Red Axis has +50% Energy Regen, while a W0 Bellicose Blaze can only offer up to +60% Energy Regen. The 0.1 multiplier difference is not that significant, considering Orphie & Magus needs more than just ATK and Energy Regen to perform well.
Second-Best W-Engine: Heartstring Nocturne
If you want to invest in other stats instead, Orphie & Magus has several options she can choose from. Her most universal option is Heartstring Nocturne, as it increases both her CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG in equal proportions. In addition, it also increases Fire DMG. Whereas both Severed Innocence and Cordis Germina primarily just focus on one stat alone.
Orphie & Magus's base CRIT Rate, including the +25% bonus from Core Passive: Taming Wind and Fire, means she does not require a lot of additional CRIT Rate. As such, Severed Innocence performs slightly better than Cordis Germina, because Orphie & Magus can activate its W-Engine Effect pretty easily. In addition, Orphie & Magus cannot deal any Electric DMG.
Other -Rank Attack W-Engines are fine for Orphie & Magus, but will generally perform about the same. So if you do not have access to any of the above options, any W-Engine will work for Orphie & Magus.
Orphie & Magus's Energy Regen Requirement
Orphie & Magus has 1.56 base Energy Regen at Level 60. She needs up to 3.66 Energy Regen to fully maximize on Core Passive: Taming Wind and Fire's Zeroed In ATK bonus. However, even though the number may seem daunting, this is fairly simple to achieve with the Drive Discs we currently have available.
You might also be receiving Energy Regen bonuses from Squad Agents or Bangboo, so maximizing the stat with Drive Discs alone is not required.
Recommended Drive Disc Builds
Because there are plenty of other Energy Regen bonuses for Orphie & Magus to select from, it is recommended to use a build that offers:
- A 2-Piece Drive Disc set with Energy Regen ( Moonlight Lullaby or Swing Jazz)
- and another 4-Piece Drive Disc set (such as Shadow Harmony, Inferno Metal, or Hormone Punk)
Though this does mean Orphie & Magus will be missing out on an extra +20% Energy Regen, the bonuses from other stats will contribute to a higher damage output in general.
Keep in mind that increasing her Energy Regen for Core Passive: Taming Wind and Fire is only a squad-wide ATK bonus, nothing else. Energy Regen does not impact the Ignore DEF value from Additional Ability: Forged in Flames, nor the increased DMG from Luxurious Cat House.
Of the 4-Piece options suggested, Orphie & Magus is most compatible with Shadow Harmony. This is because most of her kit can deal Fire Aftershock DMG, so gaining Shadow Harmony buff stacks will be easy for her.
Maximum Energy Regen Build
If you want to maximize on Core Passive: Taming Wind and Fire's ATK bonus from Zeroed In instead, you will need the following:
- Drive Disc 6 Partition: Energy Regen
- 2-Piece Moonlight Lullaby (+20% Energy Regen)
- 2-Piece Swing Jazz (+20% Energy Regen)
- Equipped W-Engine with 50-60% Energy Regen (Main Stat or W-Engine Effect)
You can substitute the W-Engine with a Bangboo if they have an Energy-related skill. However, the Drive Disc configuration is non-negotiable. Because the 2-Piece Disc effects can stack, you can go for a third 2-Piece Disc set (such as Shadow Harmony, Branch & Blade Song, or Inferno Metal).
Alternatively, you can use the 4-Piece effects from Swing Jazz. Of the two Energy Regen sets, Orphie & Magus can at least enable Swing Jazz's 4-Piece effect. However, this is only recommended if you do not have any Shadow Harmony Drive Discs available.
How to Play Orphie & Magus
Orphie & Magus's general rotation is pretty straightforward to understand:
- Generate at least 60 Bottled Heat via Special Attack: Corrosive Flash
- Switch to Orphie & Magus for EX Special Attack: Heat Charge and Ultimate: Dance With Fire
- After Bottled Heat reaches 0, or Zeroed In is active, switch Orphie & Magus back out to generate again
As most of Orphie's kit is considered as Aftershock DMG, she can theoretically gain a permanent "ignore 25% DEF" buff with any attack, as long as she has Zeroed In. This is thanks to her Core Passive: Taming Wind and Fire and Additional Ability: Forged in Flames, which inherently increases ATK, buff duration, and adds ignore DEF for Agents with Aftershock DMG.
For Core Passive: Taming Wind and Fire to work, she does need to accumulate enough Bottled Heat (up to 125). This is her gauge and how she can deal her strongest non-Ultimate ability, EX Special Attack: Heat Charge.
Notably, her Basic Attack: High-Pressure Flamethrower does not provide any gauge, whereas Special Attack: Corrosive Flash does at a rate of 20 per 5s. When her Bottled Heat is at 60 gauge or higher, Orphie & Magus needs to switch in and use her EX Special Attack: Watch Your Step.
If she has enough energy to do a second EX Special Attack: Watch Your Step or activate Ultimate: Dance With Fire, she can reach 100-120 Bottled Gauge. At this point, her EX Special Attack: Heat Charge is ready to use.
When she uses EX Special Attack: Heat Charge, she will automatically trigger a Quick Assist, which will natively put her back off-field. This allows her to regenerate Bottled Heat again once EX Special Attack: Fiery Eruption activates.
Though Bottled Heat management may seem difficult, in reality, you will primarily focus on whether Orphie & Magus has enough Energy for EX Special Attack: Watch Your Step. If she does, you switch in and continue increasing her Bottled Heat to 100. If she does not, she stays off-field to passively generate Bottled Heat and deal Aftershock DMG.
Bangboo Information
Orphie & Magus's most compatible Bangboo is
Mercury, as the Bangboo deals increased DMG
if they are paired with an Aftershock Agent. This effect
is easily enabled by Orphie & Magus alone when you
upgrade the Bangboo's Core at least three times.
If you do not have
Mercury, you can also consider
any Bangboo that has an Energy Regen effect. For example:
Knightboo
Exploreboo
Booressure
Butler (Requires Victoria Housekeeping Co. Agents)
While Energy Regen from Orphie & Magus's Bangboo is best for her, this is also not essential if her W-Engine and Drive Discs are well-built. As such, if there is a well-invested Bangboo you want to use instead, you can consider that Bangboo instead.
Orphie & Magus Team Comps and Synergy
| DPS | Sub-DPS | Support | Bangboo |
|---|---|---|---|
| Orphie & Magus | Mercury |
A unique case for Obol Squad is pairing Orphie & Magus with Seed. This is only possible as Orphie & Magus can benefit from Seed's Core Passive: Flower Chain Protocol. Her Vanguard buff not only increases the squad's overall ATK and DMG dealt, but Seed herself can restore Energy for the Vanguard. As Orphie & Magus requires Energy to gain Bottled Heat (via EX Special Attack: Watch Your Step), pairing the two together will make for a powerful team.
Alternatively, you can also use Soldier 0 - Anby instead, as Orphie & Magus can deal more damage to enemies marked by Additional Ability: Voltage Surge's Silver Star. Whenever Soldier 0 - Anby is on-field, all of Orphie & Magus's attacks are considered Aftershock DMG.
Notably, Orphie & Magus's Core Passive: Taming Wind and Fire works best with other Agents who can deal Aftershock DMG, as they can independently increase their Zeroed In's buff duration. As such, Trigger is most compatible, as she can deal Aftershock DMG alone, and will not take away significant on-field time from Seed nor Soldier 0 - Anby.
| DPS | Stun | Support | Bangboo |
|---|---|---|---|
| Orphie & Magus |
However, there are still several Stun Agents Orphie & Magus can pair with, such as Ju Fufu or Lighter. The Aftershock DMG bonus from Additional Ability: Forged in Flames is amazing, but not many Aftershock Agents currently exist. As such, if you have a Stun Agent who is well-built already, you can opt to use them instead.
As long as you meet the squad requirement for Additional Ability: Forged in Flames, the third Agent slot is fairly flexible. If Orphie & Magus is the only DPS available, you should select a Support Agent who likes ATK, such as Astra Yao or Lucy.

| Skill | Description |
|---|---|
| Core Passive: Taming Wind and Fire | Orphie & Magus's CRIT Rate increases by 25%, and Aftershock DMG increases by 85%. Orphie & Magus initially gain 100 Bottled Heat, up to a maximum of 125. When Orphie & Magus are off-field, if Special Attack: Corrosive Flash is available and Energy is greater than or equal to 60, consume 30 Energy to automatically trigger EX Special Attack: Crimson Vortex instead. When the laser from EX Special Attack: Heat Charge hits enemies, all squad members gain Zeroed In for 12s. Repeated triggers reset the duration. Zeroed In increases Agent ATK by 280. When Orphie & Magus's initial Energy Regen is greater than or equal to 1.6, for every 0.1 initial Energy Regen above this threshold, ATK increases by an additional 20. The total increase from both initial and additional ATK increases cannot exceed 700. When an Agent with Zeroed In triggers Aftershock, their Zeroed In duration extends by 4s, up to a maximum extension of 20s. The fire blade attack from Basic Attack: High-Pressure Flamethrower, EX Special Attack: Watch Your Step, EX Special Attack: Crimson Vortex, EX Special Attack: Heat Charge, EX Special Attack: Fiery Eruption, Chain Attack: Overheated Barrel, and Ultimate: Dance With Fire all count as Aftershock DMG, and using these skills counts as triggering Aftershock. |
| Additional Ability: Forged in Flames | When another character in your squad is a Stun or Support character: Aftershock DMG dealt by Agents with Zeroed In ignores 25% DEF. |
Orphie & Magus's Best Mindscapes
As Orphie & Magus is primarily an Agent who prioritizes Aftershock DMG, her Mindscape Cinema might seem a little niche at first. However, much of Orphie & Magus's Mindscapes increase her compatibility with all Agents, allowing for more flexible squad compositions.
For example, her Luxurious Cat House provides an overall 20% increased DMG for all Agents affected with Core Passive: Taming Wind and Fire's Zeroed In. Though other Agents may not have Aftershocks to increase buff duration, all of them can certainly benefit from a non-conditional DMG increase!
The other major Mindscape Cinema, beyond her Magic Seed, is Pink Holster. This Mindscape Cinema increases the initial duration of her Core Passive: Taming Wind and Fire's Zeroed In buff. This is an incredible quality-of-life addition, not just for Orphie & Magus, but also other Agents who might not have any Aftershocks in their kits.
As such, most of her Mindscape Cinemas are not an insane game-changer for Orphie & Magus herself. But they provide a lot of squad-wide buffs not really found in most Attack Agents. In addition, with these upgrades, you do not have to worry about her personal damage either. They are all great, but investment is not required to 'fix' her kit.
So if you want to use Orphie & Magus with a wider variety of Agents, investing in her Mindscape Cinema (up to Pink Holster) is recommended.

| M2 | Weird Food List | When Orphie & Magus launch an Aftershock, restore 65 Decibels. This effect can trigger once every 4s. After Orphie & Magus use their Ultimate, their ATK increases by 20% for up to 45s. |
