Zenless Zone Zero’s 3.0 update has been going strong, and, as it approaches its second half, the next limited-time event is about to begin. Beginning July 3 at 10:00am (server time), the Tales of the Hobbling Crow trades ZZZ’s signature high-speed action for a bit of detective work, sending players to the Booastrum District in Roscaelifer to investigate a string of strange incidents, alongside the Hobbling Crow Detective Agency.
Like most of ZZZ’s events, players can expect a mix of story commissions and limited-time rewards before the event officially concludes on July 20.
A Detective Narrative Unfolds in Roscaelifer
Rather than taking on a single investigation, players can expect to gradually work through five separate commissions, each unlocking after the previous case has been solved and after enough in-game time has passed. Each commission is time-gated, so players will need to be patient to get to the next clue.
HoYoverse has revealed the names of each of the five commissions, and they are certainly strange, to say the least:
- Woofy Weirdness
- Despairing Boo
- Debt Crisis
- Parent-Child Time Lag
- Last-Minute Special Blend
While the nature of these investigations is unknown, the event appears to focus on solving everyday mysteries for the Bangboo residents with Booastrum, rather than relating to any city-wide threats revealed in the main story of Version 3.0. Players will need to be at least Inter-Knot Level 20 and have completed the 3.0 Main Story, Chapter 1 – Intermission, before they can accept the first case and begin the event.
Tales of the Hobbling Crow offers a collection of valuable rewards for completing its commissions, including Polychromes, Boopons, and character-upgrade materials. For those looking to stock up for future limited banners, events like these continue to be one of the best sources in ZZZ, for picking up premium currency outside of regular gameplay.
With the event running until July 20, there should be plenty of time to work through each commission as it becomes available.
