New trials will be introduced in Endwalker, in Patch 6.0. This page will contain information about the normal and extreme difficulty trials in Endwalker. This page contains heavy spoilers for the Endwalker story.

1.

Endwalker Trial Hub

Endwalker will contain many trials and Extreme trials, challenging players and rewarding weapons, gear, and rare mounts. Three Normal difficulty trials and two two Extreme trials will be available in Patch 6.0.

2.

Normal Trials

There are four new Normal trials in Endwalker. Players will challenge these trials to progress through the main scenario.

2.1.

The Dark Inside

Zodiark's shackles have finally been broken, bringing His millennia-long imprisonment to an end. This premature awakening is the work of Fandaniel, who has cast aside his duty as an Ascian to turn the god of Darkness against the very star He was created to protect. With Zodiark's unfathomable power at his disposal, Fandaniel has selected his first victim─the Warrior of Light, who has ever been a thorn in the Ascian's side.

2.2.

The Mothercrystal

Goddess of Light. Will of the star. Hydaelyn. From the far reaches of the aetherial sea has She ever called to you...and at last you meet face-to-face. Though the Scions would traverse the great expanse in search of Meteion to forestall the Final Days, you must first rise to meet Her challenge and prove yourselves equal to the task.

2.3.

The Final Day

Meteion and her sisters took to the stars in search of hope; they found naught but despair. Wishing to free mankind from his vain struggle, they began to sing, their chorus borne upon the invisible winds of dynamis to usher in the Final Days.

Against all odds, you have arrived at their nest at the edge of the universe. In this place, where emotions dictate reality, the hopes of your comrades have opened the way forward, and it falls to you to take the last step. Transforming conviction into strength, you sally forth upon dragonback to confront the Endsinger and silence her song of oblivion.

2.4.

Storm's Crown

Your search for the great wyrm Azdaja in the void has brought you to Zero's domain, where you hope to find information that will lead you to the mysterious Golbez. But it soon becomes apparent that your victory over Scarmiglione did not go unnoticed, for now another archfiend, the ravishing-but-cruel Barbariccia, has descended to challenge you. While there is no guarantee that she will yield the answers she teases, the only way is forward, and you sally forth to confront her in her stormy domain.

2.5.

Mount Ordeals

Though seemingly impossible, Vrtra senses the presence of Azdaja in the Source, prompting you to travel north to bitterly cold Garlemald. In the mountains do you do battle with Cagnazzo, but though you prevail, your victory proves hollow. The archfiend of fire, Rubicante, seizes on your absence from Radz-at-Han and moves to destroy the voidgate in Alzadaal's Legacy. When confronted at the base of Khadga, he issues you a challenge─and thus do you make for the summit to extinguish the flame of the voidsent's ambition.

2.6.

The Voidcast Dais

Having opened a voidgate of enormous proportions in Mare Lamentorum, you successfully cross over to the moon of the Thirteenth, beneath whose sanguine surface you find the imprisoned Azdaja. Alas, just when it seems the great wyrm's liberation is in sight, you are forced to watch as she is twisted into a being of Darkness by her captor Golbez. So it is that you sally forth into the black-clad villain's conjured stage, there to end his unholy crusade and free Azdaja from her torment.

2.7.

The Abyssal Fracture

Twas only when the Ascians' god was brought low, its remnants dispersed into aether, that Golbez could piece together his plan. In the red moon's answer to the Cradle of Darkness did he use that aether to birth the dread voidsent Zeromus, which, driven by Azdaja's longing to return home, is now poised to break the barrier between worlds. And so the Warrior of Light stands fast against the Darkness, a flickering beacon of hope. Should they fail, the Thirteenth's deliverance will prove the Source's destruction.

3.

Extreme Trials

There are currently four Extreme Trials in Endwalker. Players can unlock these after completing the main scenario and the normal version of the trial.

3.1.

The Minstrel's Ballad: Zodiark's Fall

The account of your triumph over the god of Darkness has prompted the wandering minstrel to once again perform the impossible, by taking an already senses-shattering encounter and exaggerating it to ludicrous extremes. His mellifluous musings transport your mind to that fateful moment, where your terrifying foe awaits, His unfathomable strength surpassing even your wildest imagination...

3.2.

The Minstrel's Ballad: Hydaelyn's Call

From the first note of the minstrel's melody, you recall the scene with crystal clarity─your allies and Hydaelyn, hope against hope. Overcome once again with the emotion of that day, no epithet seems too grand, no verse too epic...

3.3.

The Minstrel's Ballad: The Endsinger's Aria

Had the Endsinger succeeded in gathering but a few more stars' worth of despair─or even that of a few more souls─might the darkness you faced have been so deep, not even the light of hope kindled by your comrades could pierce it? So muses the wandering minstrel, and by his consummately evocative words, you find your mind set adrift amidst that unsettling possibility, where you can rely upon naught save your own conviction to overcome the ultimate incarnation of despair...

3.4.

Storm's Crown (Extreme)

The void─a world without death, where the strong devour the weak... Upon hearing your tales from that lightless place, the wandering minstrel cannot help but wonder: what if Barbariccia had devoured more of the great wyrm's aether? Having mused thus, the man then calls upon his not inconsiderable dramatic flair to weave a new verse, one which imagines a vastly empowered archfiend. The breezy melody sets your mind adrift upon shadowed winds, where you relive the stormy encounter, now stormier still...

3.5.

Mount Ordeals (Extreme)

A monster in flesh, yet a man in spirit... Hearing the tale of your bout with Rubicante sets the wandering minstrel's mind to racing. What if the voidsent drank deeper of the great wyrm's aether? It is not long before the minstrel─with the help of his seemingly boundless imagination─conjures a fiery new composition. The pyretic tones set your ears to burning as your mind hearkens back to that fateful encounter with the archfiend of fire..

3.6.

The Voidcast Dais (Extreme)

In a world bereft of Light and death's release, where to live is to devour or be devoured, Golbez had concocted his crusade. Though he had minions to carry out his will, he ultimately trusted none but himself and abided in solitude for thousands of years. What was it that sustained him through such a purgatory as he sought to enact his dark designs? It is this question which lingers on the wandering minstrel's mind, inspiring him with a new verse. As you listen to his solemn dirge of the black-clad villain's unforgivable deeds, your thoughts race back to that terrible clash of wills upon the moon of the Thirteenth, where Azdaja's fate hung in the balance...

3.7.

The Abyssal Fracture (Extreme)

Fueled by a yearning not its own, the voidsent Zeromus was poised to shatter the barrier between worlds. Its passage would be halted thanks in part to another denizen of the void, one who wielded splendorous Light to change both her fate and that of the Thirteenth. Yet what if Light's refulgence proved too great for this voidsent vagabond steeped in Darkness? Would aught else have stayed Zeromus's hand? These questions and more fuel the Wandering Minstrel's imagination as he weaves his benighted ballad, its measured tones calling your mind back to a most harrowing encounter...
