This page contains information about the Manderville Gold Saucer, an all-inclusive amusement park and casino filled with mini-games, activities, and more! Here, you can learn about all the side content the Gold Saucer has to offer.

1.

The Manderville Gold Saucer

Founded by the master Goldsmith Godbert Manderville, The Manderville Gold Saucer is Eorzea's premiere vacation attraction. Located in Southern Thanalan, it is an amusement park with a Cactuar, Senor Sabotender, as its mascot.

2.

Overview

The Manderville Gold Saucer, referred to as the Gold Saucer, is a theme park in FFXIV filled with activities and mini-games. No attraction in the Saucer requires gil. Instead, the entire park has its own currency, which is used to participate in and is rewarded from attractions. This currency can also be traded in for rewards at various vendors.

2.1.

How to Unlock the Gold Saucer

To unlock the Gold Saucer, players must have finished their envoy quest in the Main Scenario: either "The Gridanian Envoy," "The Ul'dahn Envoy," or "The Lominsan Envoy." This unlocks the quest "It Could Happen to You" from the NPC Well-heeled Youth in Ul'dah - Steps of Nald (x9, y9). This quest will take you on an airship bound for the Gold Saucer, where the subsequent quest "World of Wonders" will explain the Gold Saucer to you and show you around.

Map of the Gold Saucer

Furthermore, the various attractions in the Gold Saucer are unlocked by completing quests in the Gold Saucer. These have been left out for brevity, but note that any blue quest marker in the Gold Saucer will unlock something new for you.

Remember to attune to the main Aetheryte in the Gold Saucer to teleport back at any time! If you did not attune and have left the Gold Saucer, you can return at any point by using the airships located in the three major cities.

2.2.

Manderville Gold Saucer Points

As stated previously, there are no attractions in the Gold Saucer that require gil. Instead, any game that requires payment uses Manderville Gold Saucer Points (MGP), and all attractions reward MGP. However, players with less than 500 MGP can exchange gil for MGP to get started. The MGP requirement differs from attraction to attraction, and MGP can be traded for various cosmetic rewards. You can view your MGP in the Gold Saucer menu, as well as in your currencies tab.

Gold Saucer menu

MGP can be rewarded from activities outside of the Gold Saucer as well, from content such as Wondrous Tails or the Challenge Log! Your current MGP can be viewed in the Currency menu. To learn more about currencies such as MGP, visit our currencies guide.

3.

Attractions

The Gold Saucer is host to many different attractions, some of which can be accessed outside of the Gold Saucer. Many of these attractions have their own systems and are large in scope, so head to their respective pages to learn more!

3.1.

Chocobo Racing

Chocobo Racing is a Mario Kart-esque racing mini-game where players race with specially bred chocobos against seven other players or NPCs on three different racetracks. Players can breed chocobos to suit their needs, participate in racing challenges, and become the ultimate jockey! To learn more about Chocobo Racing, visit our guide below.

3.2.

Triple Triad

Originally making its appearance in Final Fantasy VIII, Triple Triad is a unique card game that has been reintroduced in FFXIV as a major attraction! Players can battle NPCs to receive cards or participate in matches against each other in a casual or tournament setting. Winners of tournaments receive the rarest cards, along with a ton of MGP. In addition, collecting all the cards rewards players with a unique title and mount. To learn more about Triple Triad, visit our special page below.

3.3.

Lord of Verminion

Lord of Verminion is an RTS-like mini-game based on the hit Japanese arcade game, Lord of Vermilion. In Lord of Verminion, or LoV, players summon and control their legion of minions to battle with an opponent's minions in order to seize control of the battlefield and shatter the opponent's structures. It can be played against NPCs in a series of challenges, as well as against other players in tournaments, which reward a ton of MGP! To learn more about Lord of Verminion, take a look at our Lord of Verminion guide.

3.4.

Doman Mahjong

FFXIV boasts one of the most popular online venues of Japanese Riichi Mahjong in the Doman Mahjong attraction. Doman Mahjong is a tile-based game of skill, strategy, and above all, luck, where players are pitted against NPCs or three other players to form ordered hands out of tiles. This game mode has gained significant popularity from its myriad appearances in anime and manga.

3.5.

Fashion Report

The Fashion Report, hosted by the mysterious Masked Rose, is a weekly challenge where players dress up to a theme and present their glamour to be judged. The Fashion Report is one of the best sources of weekly MGP. To learn more about how to be the most fashionable Eorzean, visit our Fashion Report guide!

3.6.

Cactpot

The Cactpot is a game of chance and a great source of MGP... if the player is lucky enough, that is. There are two different Cactpots: the Mini Cactpot, which can be done daily, and the Jumbo Cactpot, which is a weekly lottery event.

3.6.1.

Mini-Cactpot

The Mini Cactpot is a daily scratch ticket lottery that allows players to purchase tickets and reveal numbers on them for MGP. Each ticket contains a 3x3 grid of numbers from one to nine, with one number already revealed. Players must reveal three other numbers before selecting a line. The sum of the numbers in the line selected will determine the amount of MGP the player receives. Players can purchase up to three tickets per day.

Mini Cactpot

To unlock the Mini Cactpot, players must complete the quest "Scratch It Rich" from the Mini Cactpot Broker in the Gold Saucer (x5, y6).

3.6.2.

Jumbo Cactpot

The Jumbo Cactpot is a weekly lottery where players can purchase tickets with four selectable numbers from 0 to 9. Players can purchase up to three tickets per week. Each week, there will be a drawing that takes place in the Gold Saucer. The more tickets that are sold that week, the greater the prize. In the drawing, numbers are revealed from last to first, and the more numbers that your tickets match, the more MGP you win. If all the numbers on your ticket match the draw, you win an enormous sum of MGP as well as the Mad Bird Ring Icon Mad Bird Ring!

Jumbo Cactpot

To unlock the Jumbo Cactpot, players must complete the quest "Hitting the Cactpot" from the Jumbo Cactpot Broker in the Gold Saucer (x8, y5).

3.7.

GATEs

GATEs, which stands for Gold Saucer Active Time Events, are attractions where the player plays a vital part in the show. When participating in GATEs, players must complete mini-game objectives that reward a sum of MGP when completed correctly. For example, in the GATE The Slice is Right, players must dodge falling bamboo stalks on a stage in rounds with increasing difficulty. GATEs will occur every twenty minutes, with one of three possible events chosen at random.

Time Option 1 Option 2 Option 3
Hourly Cliffhanger Air Force One Leap of Faith (Belah'dia)
20 minutes past the hour Any Way the Wind Blows The Slice is Right Leap of Faith (Nym)
40 minutes past the hour Air Force One Any Way the Wind Blows Leap of Faith (Nym)
3.7.1.

Cliffhanger

Players must rescue a stranded Chocobo chick at the top of a rocky structure. Players will have to run and jump across the perilous structure while goblins drop bombs along the path! If players are knocked off, they must restart from the beginning.

3.7.2.

Air Force One

Players must board the Air Force One and destroy as many targets as possible by shooting them. Players will receive MGP based on their results, with up to 5000 MGP for a perfect score.

Air Force One
3.7.3.

Any Way the Wind Blows

Players enter a stage and find a spot to stand. After a while, Typhon will appear and cast Snort on various locations on the stage, knocking players off. Players that were lucky enough to not be knocked off in the end will receive MGP!

3.7.4.

The Slice is Right

Similar to Any Way the Wind Blows, players enter a stage and find a spot to stand. Yojimbo will appear along with bamboo stalks, and he will cut them, causing them to fall. Players must dodge falling bamboo stalks and collect rewards from gold piles in order to win!

The Slice is Right
3.7.5.

Leap of Faith

Leap of Faith is a jump puzzle with two distinct maps - The Fall of Belah'dia and the Falling City of Nym. In both maps, players must make successful jumps from platform to platform while collecting cactuar trophies. If the player reaches the goal, they are rewarded with MGP, with additional MGP rewarded based on how many trophies were collected. Players can continue to collect trophies after they reach the goal point.

Leap of Faith
3.8.

Mini-games

There are a myriad of mini-games in the Gold Saucer. These are simple games that cost and reward small amounts of MGP. They can be found across the Gold Saucer in various locations.

Rewards

The primary function of MGP is to be exchanged for cosmetic rewards at various vendors throughout the Gold Saucer. Vendors sell items such as unique hairstyles, mounts, minions, and glamours. Most vendors are located at the Main Counter in Entrance Square, but there are other specialized vendors - for example, the Triple Triad Trader in Card Square will sell unique Triple Triad cards. We've listed all the main rewards from the Prize Claim NPC below, but there are other rewards you can get with MGP as well!
