The Paladin uses a sword along with Holy skills to protect and offensively buff their allies. Paladins are an asset to any party as almost every ability they have will offer a beneficial party buff. While they lack damage, they make up for it by improving the damage of all party members significantly. Supports are a necessity in all types of content, and a Paladin will certainly benefit any group that they are a part of.

1.

Blessed Aura: Accessories, Card Sets, Engravings and Gearsets

The Paladin benefits most from Swiftness with secondary Specialization. The cooldown reduction allows for an easier time maintaining its wide array of buffs for increasing damage, preventing damage, and healing. The introduction of the bracelet system presents the opportunity for a few support-focused benefits that you may attempt to roll for as well, but the stat increase is the most important area of focus.

2.

Card Sets

In the early game you can use cards that help with survivability such as Field Boss II Icon Field Boss II, We'll Meet Again Icon We'll Meet Again and Forest of Giants Icon Forest of Giants, and Farewell, Weapon Icon Farewell, Weapon. As you progress it may be beneficial to use You Have A Plan Icon You Have A Plan. For the most optimal endgame damage you'll want Lostwind Cliff Icon Lostwind Cliff at 30 awakening to increase the Light damage of everyone in your party by 3.5%. This synergizes with essentially every DPS that runs Light of Salvation Icon Light of Salvation. Master of Spears Icon Master of Spears functions the sameway at 30 awakening but increases dark damage, which can be useful for other late game content.

3.

Engravings

Engraving Priority Description
Blessed Aura Icon Blessed Aura Necessity This is the focal point of the Paladin, it will heal and reduce damage with Holy Aura Icon Holy Aura.
Awakening Icon Awakening Necessity Reducing the cooldown of your Awakening ability will allow you to apply more frequent buffs to your party and generate Piety Meter.
Expert Icon Expert Very High Increases healing and shield strength for the party. This is taken in most builds because of the amount of healing and shielding that a Paladin offers.
Vital Point Strike Icon Vital Point Hit Optional Improves stagger if your party needs additional help for stagger checks.
Drops of Ether Icon Drops of Ether Optional Can drop Flash or Strength orbs to increase party members Critical Rate or Attack Power. It can be inconsistent because party members will need to locate orbs and pick them up.
Magick Stream Icon Magick Stream Optional Although Paladins will not have mana issues, this can be a way to receive extra cooldown reduction and make it easier to have higher uptime on all buffs.
4.

Gearsets

Starting in Legendary gear, you'll want the Harsh Oath Icon Harsh Oath set from Argos, this will provide extra Critical Hit Damage to your party and synergize with party members who are using the Preordained Diligence Icon Preordained Diligence set to maximize their damage output. Once you start to obtain Relic gear, it is best to use the Yearning Icon Swamp of Yearning gearset that provides buffs to you and teammates. It's the only support focused Relic set in the game.

5.

Accessories and Stat Distribution

For your Bracelet, focus on rolling as much main stat as you can. If you wish to maximize your bracelet, you may roll for additional present bonuses such as: Expose Weakness, Dagger, Cheers, or Enlightenment. Bonuses like Vitality, STR, HP Recovery, and MP Recovery can be useful.
