How to get a Mount
The ability to travel by mount is given as a reward for progressing through part of the Diablo 4 campaign on your first character. After completing all of Acts 1, 2, and 3, you will be summoned to Kyovashad, in Fractured Peaks to talk with Donan in the Cathedral of Light. You will then be given a short follow-up quest called Mount: Donan’s Favor, which simply requires you to talk to Oskar, the Kyovashad Stable Master. Completing this quest will reward you with a generic brown horse and the ability to ride it. This extends to all current and future characters on your account. Mounts and related cosmetics (barding and trophies) are all account-wide as well.

What Do Mounts Do?
Mounts can be ridden anywhere except in dungeons to significantly improve your movement speed. Mounting up is instant and can even be performed in combat, unless you have been recently hit by a hostile player in one of the PvP areas. While mounted, you also gain access to 3 skills:
- Dash (default hotkey: space bar), which provides a burst of speed on a short cooldown with 3 charges. Dash also allows you to hop over certain obstacles such as small chasms without having to dismount. Vertical obstacles such as ladders are unfortunately out of reach.
- A class-specific dismount skill (default hotkey: 1), which generally deals some area of effect in addition to some other thematic effect. This skill will always be on cooldown for a few seconds right after mounting up, likely in an effort to prevent horses from being assimilated into combat rotations.
- Dismount (default hotkey: 2 or right-click), which does just that.
Mounts also have their own “stress meter,” which fills up as you take damage and slowly drains over time. Should you allow this meter fill up completely, you will be knocked off your mount and will not be able to mount up again for a few seconds. Your aggro range is reduced significantly while mounted however, making this a rare occurrence unless you charge headfirst into a large group of enemies.

Shop Mounts
As many are aware, Diablo 4 features an in-game shop that offers a range of cosmetic items, including mounts. These shop items can be acquired using platinum coins, which players can obtain by recharging their account with real money.
However, please note that the shop’s inventory is subject to frequent changes, and mounts may not always be available for purchase. Additionally, new mounts may be introduced to the shop over time.
Endurance Mount
Certain mounts are part of larger sets, and this particular mount is included in the Penitent Dragoon Prestige cosmetic set. The complete set can be obtained for 1,600 Platinum Coins.

Ingot Mount
This mount is part of the Weight of Gold Prestige cosmetic set, available for 1,600 Platinum Coins.

Liath Icehowl Mount
This mount is not bundled within a set and can be individually purchased for a set price rather than Platinum Coins. The purchase of this mount includes a weapon transmog and 800 Platinum Coins.

Battle Pass Mounts
The battle pass offers a way to unlock cosmetic items and other rewards as you play the game. Each season has a different theme, and a different set of mounts to collect. Once a season is over, players will not be able to collect the respective mounts anymore.
Here are all obtainable mounts of Season 1:
Warded Mustang Mount
The Warded Mustang is available for 1,000 Platinum Coins and is a Battle Pass Tier 1 reward. To unlock this mount, a Premium Battle Pass is required.

Awoken Warded Mustang Mount
The Awoken Warded Mustang is available for 1,000 Platinum Coins and is a Battle Pass Tier 90 reward. To unlock this mount, a Premium Battle Pass is required.

Promotional Mounts
Currently, there are three mounts that fall into this category: special editions from the game, and Twitch promotions.
Light-Bearer Mount
Unfortunately, this mount is no longer obtainable, as it was exclusively available as a pre-order bonus. If you had pre-ordered any edition of the game, you would find this mount directly in your stable. However, it is no longer possible to obtain it if you did not pre-order.

Temptation Mount
This mount is accessible to players who have purchased either the Deluxe Edition or the Ultimate Edition of the game. Those who have acquired one of these editions will find the mount directly in their stable. If you initially purchased the basic edition and desire to obtain this mount, you still have the option to upgrade your game version to the Deluxe or Ultimate edition. By doing so, you can acquire the additional mount and other accompanying items.

Primal Instinct Mount
This mount is exclusively available for a limited period as part of a Twitch promotional event. To obtain this mount, players are required to gift two subscriptions to a participating streamer during the event. Once their Twitch account is linked to their Blizzard account, players will receive a redemption code through Twitch, which can be used to claim the mount within the Battle.net platform.

How Do I Change the Look of My Mount?
Most settlements are home to a Stable Master, who will allow you to browse and customise your active mount. Some of them (as well as other vendors) will also have unique mounts and cosmetics for sale, so be sure to pay them a quick visit whenever you discover a new town. Look for the horse icon on your map.

Unique mounts, bardings, and trophies can also be obtained for overcoming some of the most difficult challenges in the game or ordering a KFC sandwich.
