Whether you’re returning for the free login campaign, or you’re still working your way through the Arcadion, there’s new content for Final Fantasy XIV! Patch 7.41 of Into the Mist introduces new quests for Cosmic Exploration and the Phantom Weapons relics. Here are the big things you need to know:
Phantom Weapons
If you’ve kept up with Dawntrail‘s relic weapons, the next stage of enhancement is now available. Provided you’ve completed the second tier of upgrades and completed the quest “Wrought by Hands Phantasmal,” you can start your next quest by talking to Lydirceil. You can find him in the Phantom Village (X: 6.6 Y: 7.1), offering the quest “Timeworn Techniques.”
Much like the second stage of enhancements, players will start by purchasing and/or crafting four items. Umbral Clay is available from Goplu in Tuliyollal (X: 13.1, Y: 12.7), but warning to those short on Gil, the price tag is 500K. In addition, players will need an Aspected Aether Agglomerate, Aetheroconductor, and Aetherocatalyst. All are craftable with Master XII recipe books for Disciples of the Hand; otherwise you’ll need to pay up through the market board.
Once that’s complete, you’ll proceed to the next step. In another familiar twist, you’ll be collecting Crystal Paste by completing a duties from a given list. You’ll need 1,200 over four steps, but fortunately you can stack the paste in your inventory so you can turn it in all at once. The list of instances include:
• Duty Roulettes: Expert, Level Cap, Leveling (Note: No daily limit, so repeat these as much as you want)
• Deep Dungeon: Pilgrim’s Traverse
• Raids: AAC Heavyweight (Normal and Savage)
• Trials: Hell on Rails (Extreme)
• FATEs: All Dawntrail Zones
There’s just one more step. That’s right, your favorite: 1,500 Tomestones of Mathematics. After that you’ll get your shiny new relic, with the opportunity to purchase more with tomestones.
Cosmic Exploration
For the avid crafters, the next step of your interstellar escapades has arrived. If you’ve caught up with the current Cosmic Exploration quests, you can find the next one available from Searchingway. You can find them at Phaenna (X: 27.2 Y: 13.8) with the quest “Mission of Gravity.”
During the quests, players will gain access to the planet Oizys. As with the previous planets, Disciples of the Hand and Land will collectively work together to help develop facilities on their planet. Oizys also features Artifact Search, allowing you to unearth ancient records from the star. To find artifacts, you’ll need dronebits obtainable through class A missions. Bits can be exchanged for drone modules from Kaede on Oizys (X:17.3 Y:24.1). Drones can then scout the map for artifact locations, and all that’s left is to claim your prize.
Additionally, Cosmic Tools can be further enhanced. Complete stellar missions to obtain research data, then report to Researchingway on whichever planet you’re on. Once you have enough data, you’ll receive the next enhancement for your tool of choice.

Phantom Weapons and Cosmic Exploration make up the bulk of 7.41’s updates. New housing items, armor, and mounts have also been added, and Echo is now available for AAC Cruserweight (Savage). Oh, and Summoner got some buffs. Neat.
