The last step of the Phantom Weapons quest is here.

After three stages and more than 4,500 tomestones, the end is finally in sight for the Phantom Weapons quests. Once finished, you’ll get an item level 795 weapon for your chosen job, with some snazzy new effects as well. There’s just a little more grinding to do, so read on for the step-by-step on unlocking your Phantom Weapon Occultum. And if you haven’t done the last step, here’s a link to help you catch up!

Phantom Weapons Eclipticum: Prerequisite Items

Like the other stages in the quest, you’ll need to start by gathering four different items as your initial step. One of these is a vendor item, though you’ll need some gil to purchase it. The other three are obtainable via crafting, or purchasable on the market board.

  1. Monarch Whetstone: Get it from Goplu in Tuliyollal (X: 13.1, Y:12.7). Costs 500,000 gil.
  2. Ancestral Alloy Ingot: Synthesized by armorer, blacksmith, or goldsmith. Requires Master Recipes XII. Alternatively purchased from the market board.
  3. Ascendant Twine: Synthesized by carpenter, leatherworker, or weaver. Requires Master Recipes XII. Alternatively purchased from the market board.
  4. Majestic Polish: Synthesized by alchemist or culinarian. Requires Master Recipes XII. Alternatively purchased from the market board.
Occult Crescent North Horn

Farming Dispellers

After turning in the above items, players will need to farm Phantom Dispellers. There are three different types, and each is obtainable through certain activities and duties. If you’re exploring the Occult Crescent: North Horn, you can get your dispellers by completing FATEs (yields 3) and Critical Encounters (yields 10). Players will need 100 of each type to progress the quest.

  1. Phantom Dispeller α: Obtainable via High-level Dungeons Roulette (yields 13)
  2. Phantom Dispeller β: Obtainable via Trials Roulette (yields 5)
  3. Phantom Dispeller γ: Obtainable via Raids Roulette (yields 5)

Once you have all 300, you’ll need (you guessed it) 1500 Allagan Tomestones of Mathematics to purchase 3 Ecliptic Arcanites from Ermina (X: 6.9, Y: 7.3). Don’t worry, this will be the lass time you need to do this, promise. After that you’ll receive a Phantom Weapon Eclipticum. but if you really want to maximize your weapon’s potential, there’s one more step…

Phantom Weapon Eclipticum

Phantom Weapons Occultum

The final step to get your weapon to ilvl 795 is something of a victory lap: running through almost all the content in Dawntrail. Players will receive a Knowledge Crystal requiring them to complete specific duties and in-world activities. The list is as follows:

  1. Yok Tural: Complete 5 FATEs in Urqopacha, Kozama’uka, and Yak Te’l, and kill certain enemies in each zone.
  2. Xak Tural: Complete 5 FATEs in Shaaloani and Heritage Found, and kill certain enemies in each zone.
  3. Unlost World: Complete 5 FATEs in Unlost World, and kill certain enemies.
  4. Leveling Dungeons: Clear each Dawntrail leveling dungeon once.
  5. Expert Dungeons:Clear each Dawntrail level 100 dungeon once.
  6. Trials: Clear each Dawntrail normal trial once (excluding the Windward Wilds).
  7. Alliance Raids: Clear each alliance raid in the Echoes of Vana’diel series once.
  8. Normal Raids: Clear each normal raid in the Arcadion once.

After that, your knowledge crystal will be ready to turn in, and you can finally unlock your max level relic. Like other relic weapons in past expansions, you’ll be able to allocate stats between critical hit, determination, and either direct hit, spell speed, skills peed, tenacity, or piety based on your job. And don’t fret, you can reallocate your stats by spending more Ecliptic Arcanites.

As an added bonus, a quest will be made available for the Phantom Philleter for Culinarian (the supercharged knife Gerolt uses in the quest. And of course, level 1 replicas of the Eclipticum and Occultum weapons will be made available for purchase.
