Version 5.7 arrives this Tuesday and brings with it a highly anticipated lineup of both new and returning characters for players to consider pulling for. With Skirk making her long-awaited debut alongside reruns for Shenhe, Mavuika, and Emilie, deciding where to spend your Primogems is no easy task. Let’s break down each banner to help you make the best choice depending on your goals.
Banner Schedule for Version 5.7
In Phase 1, Skirk will make her debut alongside Shenhe’s rerun. Both banners feature Dahlia as one of the promoted 4-stars, though the remaining 4-stars are unknown.
In Phase 2, both Mavuika and Emilie will return for their reruns, also sharing the same unknown pool of 4-stars at this time.
Character Breakdown & Pull Advice
Skirk
The long-awaited Skirk finally joins the roster as the second strongest DPS unit in the entire game, delivering a flashy, otherworldly playstyle built around Cryo and Hydro synergies. Beyond her animations and exciting lore, Skirk brings enormous team damage potential.
However, Skirk comes with one significant caveat – Escoffier. While Escoffier isn’t mandatory, her synergy with Skirk provides such a huge damage boost that pulling Skirk without her may feel sub-optimal for players looking to maximize team performance. That said, Escoffier can always be picked up later if needed, but it’s something to factor into your decision. Skirk is also highly locked into Cryo/Hydro team comps, if account flexibility is important.
Check out Our Skirk Guide!Shenhe
Shenhe remains one of the strongest Cryo buffers available, making her an excellent support for Skirk or any other Cryo DPS such as Ayaka. While she isn’t essential for Skirk’s teams (especially with alternatives like Citlali, Furina, or Yelan offering other team setups), she can be a fantastic luxury pick if you’re heavily invested in Cryo.
Shenhe synergizes best with accounts that already have or plan to focus on multiple Cryo characters, though players prioritizing flexibility may prefer investing in someone like Yelan first when they are next available.
Shenhe’s Guide and Best BuildsMavuika
The reigning Archon of Genshin Impact’s meta right now, Mavuika stands firmly at the top as the game’s strongest DPS.
If you’re pulling purely for meta dominance, Mavuika is the safest, most universal pick this patch if you do not have her already. Her incredibly high damage output paired with solid sub-DPS flexibility, makes Mavuika a highly desirable unit long-term. The only thing to be aware of is her unique motorbike playstyle, which can feel a little awkward or divisive for some players. Definitely take her trial run before committing, but if you enjoy her gameplay, she’s an absolute powerhouse.
Blaze Through Natlan With our Mavuika GuideEmilie
Emilie remains one of the best and only Burning-focused sub-DPS unit, excelling at very specific Dendro/Burning team compositions. However, her niche nature means she’s not a universally safe pick unless you’re intentionally building a team around her. Emilie shines if you’ve already invested into Burning teams or want to experiment with this unique reaction setup, but isn’t a must-pull for most accounts.
Emilie’s Guide and Burning SubDPS BuildPull Priority Order and Other Considerations
To put it simply in terms of meta:
Of course, always pull for who you love, meta isn’t everything and if you enjoy a character or their playstyle they are worth every pull invested.
You may also want to consider future patches. Version 5.8 announcements will be soon and Nod Krai reveals are expected to debut later this month. Now is a great time to be saving for brand new characters with potentially game-changing mechanics being added in Nod Krai as well as highly anticipated future characters potentially being playable such as Varka, Witches of Hexenzirkel and Fatui Harbingers.
