Crazy Taxi World Tour Gameplay Revealed at Xbox Showcase

Crazy Taxi World Tour

Today’s Xbox Showcase dropped a ton of announcements for many big titles. While we expected a lot of new trailers for games such as Gears of War: E-Day or Halo Campaign Evolved. Others surprised us, like Persona 4 & 6, and Metro 2039. But two games really surprised all of us: DOOM: The Dark Ages Revelations and the return of Crazy Taxi!

Crazy Taxi World Tour

That’s right, Crazy Taxi is making a comeback. It’s been over 20 years since the original was released, and while there have been some sequels, not all of them have hit the same way. Crazy Taxi World Tour is modernizing a classic by introducing a world tour campaign, arcade mode, and even multiplayer.

From initial impressions, Crazy Taxi hasn’t lost its style and continues to blend the 90s crazy aesthetic, while mixing modern-day elements pretty well. Even to the point that this blending is going to cause some fresh rivalry for our favorite Crazy Taxi driver.

But there is one element that was revealed after the trailer dropped, and fans are now becoming skeptical about it.

Perhaps Too Crazy

After the trailer dropped and fans rushed to wishlist on Steam, fans quickly noticed an AI-generated content disclosure at the bottom of the page. Which reads:

At SEGA Corporation, we utilize generative AI as a support tool for developers, aiming to provide better content to our users and enable developers to focus more on creative tasks.

We have used such generative AI support tools during development of Crazy Taxi: World Tour. No AI was used in reference to the performers in the game.

This has ultimately left some fans hesitant to look forward to Crazy Taxi World Tour, as SEGA has begun pushing gen AI into its games.

So is this a buzzkill for Crazy Taxi, or does this not matter that much to you?
