How to Always Identify the Bad Potion in Horrific Visions in Patch 11.1.5

Staff's Avatar by Staff

Knowing which potion not to drink inside Horrific Visions can save you from fast Sanity drain, especially if you’re running with multiple Faceless Masks. Here’s how to quickly spot the bad potion color each time!

Why Potion Color Matters

Each Horrific vision run randomizes the bad potion color. Drinking it by mistake will drain your Sanity. Identifying the bad color early helps you avoid unnecessary Sanity loss throughout the run.

Where to Find the Bad Potion in Stormwind

In the Horrific Vision of Stormwind, you begin near the Cathedral. Head straight until you find Morgan Pestle’s corpse. Next to it lies a potion, the color of that potion is the bad one for your current run. In our case, it’s green, so you must avoid all green potions. The other colors are safe.

You don’t need to walk up to it, just hover over the potion name from distance. It always includes a color in its name!

Just for reference, here’s where to find the bad potion color for each run.

Where to Find the Bad Potion in Orgrimmar

At the start of the Horrific Vision of Orgrimmar, turn left. Inside the second building, you’ll find the bodies of Yelmak and a Voidbound Ravager. On the ground, nearby is a potion indicating the bad color. Like here, when it’s blue, you should avoid blue potions throughout the run.

Just like in Stormwind, you can identify the color from afar by mousing over the potion’s name.

It’s safe to drink all the other potions. For more details about the other potion effects, check out our detailed guide!
