Turboboost and Bonus Rolls in Midnight Season 1: The Voidforge
With patch 12.0.5, Blizzard introduces the Voidforge - a new system that will allow players a chance to receive additional gear, and power up some of the gear they already have!
What is the Voidforge?
The Voidforge is something we have been working with Decimus to build at The Howling Ridge, located in Voidstorm at 51.20,68.50. It is a new system that will allow you to do two things: acquire bonus rolls each week to use when engaging in PvE endgame content, allowing you to gain additional gear, and upgrade your weapons and trinkets to higher item levels.
How to Unlock the Voidforge
Each week leading up to Patch 12.0.5, Decimus has offered us a weekly quest to slay enemies in endgame instanced content and collect Voidcores. Come the release of Patch 12.0.5, he will have offered a total of 6 quests required to unlock the forge. If you have not been keeping up with these quests, no worries! You can complete them all back-to-back to catch up quickly and gain access to everything the Voidforge has to offer.
Nebulous Voidcores: The Bonus Rolls of Midnight Season 1
Each week, you can purchase two
Nebulous Voidcores
to roll for bonus items from endgame content. These Voidcores can be
purchased with gold,
Veteran Dawncrests, or
Voidlight Marl. Additionally, you can trade 6
Thalassian Token of Merits ,from the weekly Great Vault,
for one additional Voidcore.
Not all endgame content is created equal in this system however. Certain activities require a different number of Voidcores per roll. The content you can use these Voidcores in, and how many you need, are as follows:
- Raid Bosses: 2 Voidcores
- Mythic+ Dungeons: 1 Voidcore
- Bountiful Delves: 1 Voidcore
- Nightmare Prey: 1 Voidcore
After completing any of these activities, a loot roll window (pictured below) will appear in your UI. It indicates which loot is available from the roll, as well as how many Voidcores are required. An excellent addition to this feature is that once you are awarded an item from a bonus roll, it is removed from the loot table for all future rolls of that difficulty. Over time, this will guarantee the item you are chasing!
For Mythic+, Bountiful Delves, and Nightmare Prey rolls using Nebulous Voidcores, items will match the gear quality found in the Great Vault for completing that activity. For example, using a Voidcore in a Mythic+10 or higher dungeon will award a Myth track item.
Ascendant Voidcores: Further Increasing Item Level in Midnight Season 1
Following the construction of the Voidforge, Decimus will task players
with assisting him in crafting the Ascendant Nilhammer. This powerful tool
enables
Ascendant Voidcores to drop from all Midnight Season 1 PvE content.
When used, these items increase the item level of fully upgraded Hero or Myth track
weapons and trinkets from Midnight Season 1, raising them to even higher levels,
up to a maximum of item level 298 for Myth track items. These Voidcores
can also be applied to crafted weapons to further enhance their power.
