With Patch 12.0.5 live and 6 weeks worth of Mythic raiding under our belts, the data is well and truly in. A few specs are absolutely dominating the meters, while others are left struggling for representation. Thankfully, AttitudeAdjusterSE is back at it again with another useful infographic, showcasing spec popularity vs average overall DPS.
Spec Popularity vs Average Overall DPS
At the top end, we have Devourer Demon Hunter and Frost Mage—combining big DPS with big representation. Interestingly, Survival Hunter has the third-highest average DPS, yet they come in at just under 10k parses. Beast Mastery and Marksmanship have fallen from grace, yet BM retains popularity.
Further down is where things get more uneven. Unholy Death Knight, which saw some buffs earlier in Midnight, still sees strong representation, but the performance picture is less flattering. Retribution Paladin reliably holds its middle pack position—always a fan favourite despite very average DPS.
Mage is simultaneously one of the best and worst performing classes in the graph. Frost is thriving, yet Fire sees below-average DPS and very little representation. And Arcane… need we say more?
