Melt Elemental Reaction in Genshin Impact

Melt is an Elemental Reaction caused by applying Pyro onto Cryo and vice versa. This amplifies the damage of whichever Element triggers the reaction.

Depending on the order you apply Cryo and Pyro, you will deal different amounts of damage. These are commonly referred to as Forward or Reverse Melt.

• Pyro then Cryo triggers Forward Melt dealing 1.5x Cryo DMG.
• Cryo then Pyro triggers Reverse Melt dealing 2x Pyro DMG.

Reverse Melt is by far the more common way this reaction will occur because there are very few setups currently in which you can have enough Pyro maintained on an enemy for powerful Cryo attacks to react on to.

Listed below are some characters which effectively utilise the Melt Elemental Reaction. This is not a definitive list and many Cryo or Pyro characters can be used.

Character	Explanation
Xiangling	Xiangling is an incredibly powerful off-field Pyro applicator who can easily enable Melt Reactions both with Pyronado and Guoba Attack. Pyronado DMG and Guoba's Flame have no ICD making them great for Elemental Reactions.
Wriothesley	Wriothesley is a 5-star DPS capable of creating Melt Reactions to deal high damage. Being a Catalyst user means that Wriothesley can easily apply Cryo using a range of attacks.
Ganyu	Using the Charged Attacks on their bow, Ganyu's mainly deals damage through Melt. Additionally, her Elemental Skill Trail of the Qilin taunts enemies making it easier to set up Elemental Reactions.
