Cryo Elemental Reactions, Resonance, and Characters in Genshin Impact

The Cryo Element in Genshin Impact represents the power of ice. Cryo characters excel at applying the Frozen status effect, which immobilizes enemies. Cryo is also unique in the fact that simply having the Cryo status will slow down both your characters Attack and Movement Speed.

Cryo has the following reactions when combined with other elements:

Crystallize	Geo x (Pyro or Hydro or Electro or Cryo)	Picking up a Shard created by the Crystallize reaction will create a Cryo shield for your character.
Frozen	Hydro x Cryo	Gives the enemy a Freeze status and encases them in ice.
Melt	Pyro x Cryo	Deals either 1.5x or 2x damage based on the order in which the Elements are applied.
Shatter	(Dendro x Electro) Frozen x (Physical / Geo)	Hitting a Frozen Enemy with either Geo or Blunt attacks will deal Physical DMG while also removing Freeze from the enemy.
Superconduct	Electro x Cryo	Reduces the enemies Physical RES by 40% and deals Cryo DMG.
Swirl	Anemo x (Pyro or Hydro or Electro or Cryo)	Spreads and Absorbs Cryo.

Because the Cryo status causes your character to have decreased Attack and Movement Speed, playable characters do not apply Cryo to themselves or other party members. That being said, some characters for example Diona's Icy Paws will actually apply Frozen instead.

In situations where your character may have Cryo applied to them such as in Domains, Cryo can safely Cleanse Pyro as well as Electro but will react with Hydro.

Cryo's Elemental Resonance is Fervent Flames which can be activated when at least 2 Cryo characters are in the party. This makes your characters affected by Electro for 40% less time and increases CRIT Rate against enemies affected by Cryo or frozen enemies by 15%.
