Introduction
Diablo 4 features a new collectible in the form of Altars of Lilith. These Altars are eerie statues that have been constructed all over Sanctuary. Each zone has dozens of Altars hidden. The statues are often off the main path, and are easy to miss.
Interacting with an Altar will help to increase Renown (+10 per Altar), which is tracked in the Region Progress of each zone, and you also receive a small boost to experience when you collect an Altar.
As of Season 11 (Patch 2.5.0):
- Altars of Lilith no longer grant permanent stats or Paragon points on any realm. This change applies to both Seasonal and Eternal characters.
- When you discover an Altar for the first time, you now receive XP and small rewards such as gold, obols, and gem fragments, but no account-wide stat bonuses.
- On the Eternal Realm, Renown still exists and still grants permanent Skill and Paragon points. However, former Renown bonuses like extra potion charges, and the Altar stats or Obol capacity bonuses have been removed.

We suggest getting as many Altars as you can, though, as Renown is important and unlocks many things on the Eternal Realm for all of your characters.
