Gear, Stats, Gems, and Runes

The following sections cover the important systems that are essential to improving the power of your character during the leveling process. Higher Item Power generally indicates stronger gear, but you should also consider the affixes and effects that are relevant to your class and build.

Legendary Aspects

Legendary Aspects can be found on Legendary Items, which can be salvaged at the Blacksmith to unlock them in the Codex of Power for repeated imprinting onto your gear. Higher ranks for aspects are unlocked by salvaging Legendary Items with higher aspect values. Check the Aspect and Codex of Power guide for more general information.

Listed below are all the Aspects found on Legendary Items that are important for the Dance of Knives Rogue leveling build. They are listed in order of priority, with the most beneficial at the top. For the best results, combine these Aspects with the ideal Stat Priorities. The best-in-slot Aspects List is in the Endgame Guide for the Dance of Knives Rogue.

Stat Priority and Tempering Affixes

Listed below are the affixes to prioritize on gear during the early leveling of a Dance of Knives Rogue, ranked by importance. Affixes on the same line have equal value, so attempt to obtain all affixes in each line before moving on to the next.

Ensure you temper your best item upgrades regularly, as the extra affixes provide a significant advantage while leveling. Weapon and Offensive category tempers are especially powerful and can massively boost your damage output.

The Item Power of weapons determines their DPS and is the most important factor when selecting a Dual-Wielded Weapon. The choice between Daggers or Swords does not make a big difference in overall performance. Prioritize beneficial stat affixes on a Ranged Weapon instead of the DPS, as there are no attacks utilizing them in this build.

The most beneficial tempering affixes while leveling are included below. The best-in-slot tempering affixes are available in the Endgame Guide for the Flurry Rogue. Check the Tempering Guide for more information on this system.

Build Mechanics

The Flurry Rogue is a Ranged Bow build featuring a simple playstyle that excels in all Diablo 4 activities. FlurryFlurry dashes to enemies with its TransporterTransporter modifier to rapidly strike enemies in an area, enabling the Core Skill to effectively clear groups of enemies.

Invigorating StrikeInvigorating Strike generates Energy to get started with the build, but fewer casts are needed as other sources of Energy Regeneration become available.

DashDash provides additional mobility and can be used to hit enemies, increasing their chance to be Critically Struck and knocking them down through its modifiers.

Dark ShroudDark Shroud grants increased Movement Speed and a massive multiplier to Energy Regeneration with its modifiers.

Shadow ImbuementShadow Imbuement explodes enemies for area-of-effect damage, while applying Vulnerable to enemies and granting Overpower stacks with its modifiers. The Endemic modifier rapidly reduces the Cooldown when killing groups of enemies for 100% uptime.

Shadow CloneShadow Clone supplements damage output when maximum damage is needed.

Rotation and Playstyle

Use the following rotation to optimize the playstyle.

  1. Refresh Dark ShroudDark Shroud constantly if you take damage to regain stacks that increase Movement Speed and Energy Regeneration.
  2. Refresh Shadow ImbuementShadow Imbuement constantly to explode enemies for area-of-effect damage.
  3. Cast DashDash to traverse, or hit enemies with it to increase their chance to be Critically Struck and knock them down.
  4. Spam FlurryFlurry to deal damage and dash to enemies within a moderate range, jumping from pack to pack of enemies.
  5. Cast Invigorating StrikeInvigorating Strike to generate Energy when needed.
  6. Against bosses and tough elites, cast Shadow CloneShadow Clone to maximize damage output.
