Build Introduction
The Ravens Druid is a pet playstyle, summoning swarms of Ravens to unkindly slay your enemies. With the new Kilt of Blackwing Unique Item and Stormcrow’s Aspect, Ravens are now a strong and viable playstyle.
- Kilt of Blackwing – Ravens deal 60-100% increased damage and shapeshifting into a different form or activating a Companion Skill Summons a Raven that attacks nearby enemies. Summoning a Raven has a chance to call forth an Unkindness for 10 seconds, increasing the number of Ravens Summoned to three for the duration.
This is a Grizzly Rage build that uses the Dire Werebear form for deadly effect. However, there are several Variant ways to play around Ravens, including Dire Werewolf, Human, and Cataclysm.
If you are interested in other Companion skills such as Wolves, try out the Wolf Companion Druid.
Just starting on your druid adventure? Try out the Companion Leveling Build and swap to this one at Level 60.
Strengths and Weaknesses
- Strong AOE and Crowd Control.
- Fantastic Infernal Hordes farmer.
- Wolves will push higher in Pit.
- Aiming Ravens can be controller unfriendly.
Build Requirements

You will also want the new Unique Item Kilt of Blackwing to empower your Ravens.

Quick Navigation
This guide covers everything necessary to get started on the Ravens Druid, including Skill Tree points, Paragon, Gearing, and Seasonal updates. Jump to the sections you’re looking for here:
Skill Bar and Skill Tree Points
The final Skill is fully flexible. You can choose to leave it empty or fill in another Skill such as Trample for extra mobility or a filler spender like
Primal Pulverize for damage reduction. This build can also situationally use
Aspect of the Wildrage which would not want any other Companion on the Skill Bar.
This is a Skill Tree setup with Seasonal Chaos Power Savagery in mind, which makes Ravens a Core Skill with no cooldown, but a high Spirit Cost. Non-seasonal players can exchange ranks in
Wild Impulses and
Clarity for
Iron Fur and more ranks in
Grizzly Rage.
If you are missing skill points, complete Renown events in each zone.
Druid Class Mechanic – Spirit Boons
Druids unlock powerful Spirit Boon passives, giving offerings to the animal spirits to receive their Blessing. Once fully unlocked, activate the final Boon by Spirit Bonding with one of the four animal spirits to take two passives from that row.
Boon Name | Animal | Effect |
---|---|---|
Gift of the Stag | Deer | Gain 30 Maximum Spirit. You gain 10 Spirit ever second. |
Swooping Attack | Eagle | Gain 20% Attack Speed. |
Avian Wrath | Eagle | Gain 40% Critical Strike Damage. |
Enegerize | Wolf | Lucky Hit: Dealing damage has up to a 15% chance to fully restore your Spirit. |
Overload | Snake | Dealing damage with Storm Skills, Lightning Bolts, and Dancing Bolts also applies an additional 20% Poisoning damage over 5 seconds. Lucky Hit: Dealing Poison damage has an up to 35% chance to summon a Lightning Bolt on the target dealing 120% damage. |
Energize and Gift of the Stag is taken by Seasonal Players for Spirit Regeneration with the Seasonal Chaos Perk Savagery.
Nonseasonal players or players without access to Seasonal Chaos Perk Savagery should use Pack Leader and Wariness.
In high push, exchange Swooping Attacks for Iron Feather.
Overload is an easy way to apply Poisoned Condition and give some extra damage. Ravens have the Storm tag thanks to Stormcrow’s Aspect.

Legendary Aspects
Gear Slots with multiple options are listed in recommended priority. Any slot with an Optional Mythic Unique or Unique Item will include valid alternative legendary powers to use while still leveling and gearing. Combine these with the right stat priorities.
Slot | Aspect | Unique/Legendary Power |
---|---|---|
2 Handed Polearm | ![]() | Companion Skills deal an additional 5-13% damage per Companion you have. |
Head | Mythic – ![]() ![]() | Succumb to hatred and earn Mother’s Favor, increasing your damage dealt by 60%. Slaughter enemies to briefly steal Mother’s Favor from Nearby allies. |
Chest | Mythic – ![]() ![]() | If you haven’t dealt damage in the last 2 seconds, gain Stealth and 40% Movement Speed. |
Gloves | ![]() | While Grizzly Rage is active, your direct damage is converted into Poison damage, you deal 40-80% more Poison damage, and you passively spread Rabies. |
Pants | Required Unique – Kilt of Blackwing | Ravens deal 60-100% increased damage and shapeshifting into a different form or activating a Companion Skill Summons a Raven that attacks nearby enemies. Summoning a Raven has a chance to call forth an Unkindness for 10 seconds, increasing the number of Ravens Summoned to 3 for the duration. |
Boots | ![]() | Casting a Skill has a 40-60% chance to trigger a Non-Mobility, Non-Ultimate Skill that is currently on Cooldown. Can only occur once every 8 seconds. |
Amulet | ![]() | Ravens now deal Lightning damage which is increased by 60-100%. Ravens Active deals its full damage in half the time, and enemies inside it are Stunned. |
Ring 1 | ![]() ![]() | Gain 1 additional Companion. In addition, your Companion Skills deal 15-35% bonus damage. |
Ring 2 | ![]() | The duration of Grizzly Rage is increased by 3-10 seconds. In addition, Critical Strikes while Grizzly Rage is active increase your Critical Strike Damage by 5% for the duration, up to a maximum of 100%. |
Aspect of the Stampede is a reliable addition of Companions to boost
Shepherd’s Aspect count.
Aspect of the Wildrage is a strong potential flex option for RNG greater volume of placed Ravens, which can be stronger if less reliable.
For more information on Legendary Aspects and the Codex of Power, check the guide here.
Stat Priority and Tempering Affixes
Each line of affixes is listed in order of importance, and some alternatives are given. The bolded affixes are the most important targets for Masterworking upgrades. Check the Tempering guide and Masterworking guide for more details about these topics.

Storm Critical Strike Chance works for Ravens because Stormcrow’s Aspect applies the Storm Tag.
Max Active Size is 100% added between all tempers.
Between Kilt of Blackwing and your Weapon Temper, you will want around 100% Chance for Ravens to Deal Double Damage. Any % above that does nothing.
For the dedicated page on Gear Systems and Itemization Overview, check the guide here.
Uniques and Mythic Uniques
The Ravens Druid can benefit from several Unique and Mythic Unique Items.
Uniques
- Kilt of Blackwing is the Ravens-dedicated Unique item introduced in Season 10. It boost Ravens damage and will periodically summon extra Ravens for your
Shepherd’s Aspect count.
Yen’s Blessing is useful for its Gear affixes and occasional extra casts of cooldown Skills like
Debilitating Roar.
Mythic Uniques
-
Heir of Perdition is a strong multiplier with even stronger Gear Affixes. The Critical Strike and Lucky Hit chance both boost our chance for Pack Leader Resets.
Shroud of False Death like for all builds, the +1 to all Skill Passives is powerful.
Gems and Runewords
The following are the recommended Gem and Runeword setups for the Ravens Druid.
Gems
Weapon Gems | Armor Gems | Jewelry Gems |
---|---|---|
![]() | ![]() | ![]() ![]() |
Runewords
Use these Runeword combinations for the Ravens Druid, placed in the 2-Handed Weapon and into one Armor slot.
Runeword Combination | Runeword Effects |
---|---|
Ahu Xan | ![]() ![]() |
Nagu Ceh | ![]() ![]() |
Runewords use a conditional Rune of Ritual to generate Offering. The Offering is consumed by the Rune of Invocation to trigger its effect. Runes replace Gems in gear with two sockets. Up to two sets of Runeword Pairs can be placed at a time.
Xan will offer periods where all direct damage events Overpower. This is useful during bosses to extend
Grizzly Rage.
Ceh will periodically summon Spirit Wolves to assist you in combat; applying Chill, Vulnerable, and adding to
Shepherd’s Aspect count. They are Unhindered, passing through enemies and the player. They won’t do high damage like your
Ravens, but they’re good boys anyways.
Qax can be the stronger Push option over
Xan provided you are not having any Spirit or Grizzly Rage uptime issues.
Note that with Chaos Perk Savagery, Yul will no longer be an effective trigger, as Ravens has become a Core Skill without a Cooldown.
Paragon Board
The following are the preferred Glyphs, Boards, and pathing recommended for making the most of the Ravens Druid.
The road to max Paragon is long. The above Paragon tabs show the following:
- The BASE SETUP tab spends 50 fewer points than the max 328 points, taking stricter pathing to take almost all Legendary, Rare and Magic Nodes, and activates all Glyph Nodes with their secondary effects.
- The FULL SETUP tab completes the Paragon Board in its final form, filling in the rest of the board to give additional additive bonuses, especially within the Glyph areas.
Glyphs have two significant breakpoint increases. At level 15, the glyph grows in radius and gains a special effect. At level 46, the glyph grows to its max radius and gains a strong conditional damage multiplier.
Glyphs are placed as if they are at least Level 15+ in radius. Total Boards placed are now limited to a max of 5; the Starter Board and four Class Boards. Rotate boards as necessary.
Season 10 Mechanics
Chaos Perks
Chaos Perks are the latest flavor of seasonal power, offering a selection of one Unique and 3 other powers of any combination. Perks are acquired from Seasonal Reputation or from Bartuc in Infernal Hordes. Here is the recommended setup for the Ravens Druid:
Power | Description |
---|---|
Savagery | Your Companion Skills are altered to also be Core Skills. Your Companions grow in size. Gain 40-80% Summon Damage. |
Purge the Infected | Your Core Skills also apply 100-200% of their Base damage as Poisoning over 4 seconds. Dealing direct damage to a Poisoned enemy spends 5 Spirit to be a guaranteed Critical Strike that deals 30-60% increase damage. |
Overabundance | Every 100 Spirit you generate above your Maximum increases your damage by 50-100% for 5 seconds. This bonus stacks up to 3 times, but does not refresh. |
Crazy Brew | Your Healing Potion is infused with the power of Chaos, granting you 100% Resource Cost Reduction, 40-80% increased Attack Speed and 40-80 increased Movement Speed for 5 seconds. Your Healing Potion has a 15 second Cooldown and you can drink it at full Life. Cooldown is now affected by Cooldown Reduction. |
Purge the Infected is an excellent way to apply Poisoned, guarantee Critical Strikes and a tidy multiplier on top. If the Spirit drain is too large for your current gearing to maintain Overabundance stacks, swap it for another option like Marred Guard.
Savagery is a transformational Perk, turning our Companion Skills into Core skills. This removes their cooldown but adds a hefty Spirit Cost. We exchanged Spirit Boons Packleader for Energize and Wariness for Gift of the Stag to mitigate this.
Chaos Armors
Chaos Armors are a selection of generic and class Unique Items that can drop as empowered versions in any Armor Slot besides their native slot. For example, a ChaoticFists of Fate could drop as helm, chest, pants and boots. These items open many possibilities but have a very large pool of items with low drop rates and are untradable, meaning a perfect setup may take a while and many combinations will be effective in the meantime.
The following is a recommended Chaotic setup for the Ravens Druid. Recommended Masterworks will be in Bold.
Slot | Gearing Affixes | Tempering Affixes | |
---|---|---|---|
2 Handed Polearm | ![]() ![]() ![]() | Willpower Max Life Critical Strike Damage | ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Other Chaotic Considerations
- Use
Song of the Mountain if you are not armor capped.
- Other Form setups may be valid, such as Dire Werewolf or Human. Check the Variant Play section for options.
Mercenaries
Once unlocked, Mercenaries are followers that aid the Player in combat. A main mercenary is chosen to fight alongside you, granting strong buffs or perks, and a secondary Mercenary is chosen to periodically Reinforce you under a chosen Opportunity condition.
The following Mercenary options are recommended for the Ravens Druid:
Main Mercenary – Varyana, the Berserker
- Core Skill:
Cleave,
Hysteria,
Bloodthirst,
Bloodlust
Reinforcement – Aldkin, the Cursed Child
- Reinforcement Ability –
Field of Languish
- Opportunity –
Ravens
Hysteria and Bloodlust will both give useful Attack Speed Bonuses. Other setups are viable, such as Subo’s Cover Fire for Critical Strike Damage and minimap marking quality of life, or Rahier for any needed extra Armor or Resistance.
Build Mechanics
Rotation
- Pre-build
Quickshift Stacks. Alternate
Claw with other non-Werewolf Skills.
- Activate
Grizzly Rage.
Debilitating Roar for damage buffs and damage reduction debuffs on enemies.
- Place
Ravens on your enemies, stunning them and dealing damage.
Cyclone Armor Active portion is not used. The passive defense is present even during
Grizzly Rage.
Claw can be used as a Spirit Generator or if used, to fish for Pack Leader resets during any downtime.
Skills, Support, and Synergies
The primary source of damage for the Ravens Druid is your swarms of Actively placed Ravens.
Ravens periodically and passively swoop down and peck at enemies. Their Active use places a zone of Ravens that deal damage over time within that area.
Summon Count and Modifiers
Base Ravens has one lonely Raven.
One With Nature adds one.
Brutal Ravens adds two more.
- If used,
Aspect of the Stampede adds another.
- Kilt of Blackwing Unique Item summons extra when shapeshifting or periodically summoning an Unkindness on Ravens cast.
Stormcrow’s Aspect gives Ravens the Storm Tag, deals lightning damage (Overridden by
Aspect of the Rabid Bear), deals the damage in the Raven Zone faster, and stuns enemies.
Kilt of Blackwing summons extra ravens when shapeshifting or casting Ravens and boosts Raven Damage.
Companions inherit all your Stats. For example, your attack speed bonuses will improve your Companions’ attack speeds. Likewise for other stats like Critical Strike Chance, and Lucky Hit Chance.
Shepherd’s Aspect increases Companion damage for every active Companion. Because of
One With Nature,
Wolves and
Poison Creeper do not need to be on your bars; they’re passively out and counting for
Shepherd’s Aspect. If opting to use
Aspect of the Wildrage, it is better to not have the other Companions on your Skill Bar.
Spirit Wolves summoned from the Ceh Rune also count for total
Shepherd’s Aspect. These are also Summons and will scale with some Companion modifiers.
Ravens Cooldown
For Seasonal Players using Savagery Chaos Perk, Ravens is now a Core Skill and has no cooldown, instead having a Spirit Cost.
Eternal players instead rely on Spirit Boon Pack Leader with high Lucky Hit to reset our Ravens. Spirit Boon Pack Leader resets Companion Skills as a Lucky Hit on Critical Strikes.
- We can guarantee Critical Strikes in late endgame just with masterworked
Heir of Perdition and other Gear sources.
- Lucky Hit comes from paragon nodes in
Untamed or
Sinister Tendrils, Gear Affixes or Elixirs.
Enough sources of Critical Strike and Lucky Hit and we all but guarantee resets before having to worry.
Ultimate and Key Passive
This build uses Grizzly Rage as its Ultimate Skill. Grizzly Rage grants Unstoppable for its duration, grants Damage Reduction, and a large Damage multiplier that grows over time. Grizzly Rage cooldown can be reduced while Grizzly Rage is active. Enough Cooldown and Duration tempers means you can have full uptime on Grizzly Rage. With
Dire Wolf’s Aspect, Grizzly Rage Grants Movement Speed and Aligns for Werewolf Skills and Tags.
Grizzly Rage has a capped duration, but we gain or extend Grizzly Rage duration with:
Aspect of the Rampaging Werebeast gives up to 10 seconds extra duration
- Kills extend the duration by 1 second.
- Overpowering Bosses extends duration by 5 seconds.
- Offensive Tempers on gear give more duration.
If you need more Grizzly Rage duration, consider putting more Skill Points into Grizzly Rage, taken from or targeting gear affixes like Cooldown Reduction or Duration, or Exchange Swooping Attacks Spirit Boon for Calm Before the Storm.
Our Key Passive One With Nature gives the passive count and passive attacks of any pet, even if not on the Skill Bar. This is important for
Shepherd’s Aspect and allows use of other companions’ passives on top. This and the damage multiplier for Companions puts this Key Passive ahead for this build.
Variant Play
This build is default a Grizzly Rage Werebear build. There are other options available to fit need, situation or playstyle preference.
Dire Werewolf
Dire Werewolf is a Wolf Commander thematic gameplay that offers better movement options, as well as some Spirit Cost Reduction if you’re playing with Seasonal Chaos Perk Savagery. To play into this variant:
- Add
Dire Wolf’s Aspect to a Utility Slot like Boots.
- Exchange
Debilitating Roar for
Innate Blood Howl.
- Add
Primal Shred for a mobility option. Take extra points from
Mending.
Human Commander
Sick and tired of 10 seasons of Shapeshifters dominating and want to show off your hella clean transmog? Great! Human is a viable option for the Ravens Druid this season! Make the following changes.
- Use
Gathlen’s Birthright on helm. Mastercraft ranks in
Humanity.
- Exchange
Headhunter for
Human.
- Exchange rank in
Mending for
Humanity.
- Exchange ranks in
Toxic Claws for
Electric Shock.
- Exchange ranks in
Grizzly Rage for
Petrify.
- Exchange Tempers for Grizzly Rage Cooldown for Petrify Cooldown, and Grizzly Rage duration for Critical Strike Damage or Storm Damage.
- Exchange
Aspect of the Rampaging Werebeast for
Mighty Storm’s Aspect.
- Exchange
Aspect of the Rabid Bear for one of the following:
Ring of Starless Skies when using the Seasonal Chaos Perk Savagery.
Airidah’s Inexorable Will for easy grouping from casts of
Petrify.
Aspect of the Wildrage
Will you still want to maintain buffs like Quickshift with occasional casts of
Claw or other Shapeshifting Skills? Yeah, they are important multipliers, sorry. Except in farm where you are likely overkilling things without these passives!
Cataclysm Stormcrows
Spirit Cost in my wholesome farm build? Gross, I know. We have room for a Chaotic Mjölnic Ryng if you wanted to play a
Cataclysm style gameplay. This is strictly less damage than other options, but will still be valid in Torment 4 content like Infernal Hordes. To play this style:
- Use
Gathlen’s Birthright on helm. Mastercraft ranks in
Humanity.
- Exchange
Headhunter for
Human.
- Exchange rank in
Mending for
Humanity.
- Exchange ranks in
Toxic Claws for
Electric Shock.
- Exchange ranks in
Grizzly Rage for
Petrify.
- Exchange ranks in
Heightened Senses and
Clarity for
Endless Tempest.
- Exchange
Aspect of the Rampaging Werebeast for
Mighty Storm’s Aspect.
- Exchange
Aspect of the Rabid Bear for one of the following:
Ring of Starless Skies when using the Seasonal Chaos Perk Savagery.
Aspect of the Wildrage
- Use
Mjölnic Ryng, preferably on a Chaos Slot like Pants.
- Exchange tempers for Grizzly Rage Cooldown for Cataclysm Cooldown, and Grizzly Duration for Critical Strike Damage or Storm Damage.
- Use Calm Before the Storm Spirit Boon, replacing Swooping Attacks.
Which Elixirs Should You Use?
The Alchemist offers helpful consumables at the cost of foraged materials found throughout Sanctuary.
- Craft the highest available
Elixir of Advantage II for Lucky Hit and Attack Speed Bonuses.
- One of each Incense Category can be used, for a total of three active Incenses at a time. In priority:
- Defensive –
Reddamine Buzz for Max Life, or
Song of the Mountain if you need the Armor, up to 1000 armor cap.
- Core Stat –
Blessed Guide for Willpower.
- Resistance –
Soothing Spices for All Resist, All Resist Maximum, and Armor.
- Defensive –
- Upgrade your Potion as you level, increasing the instant healing of the potion!
Season 10 Updates
The new Kilt of Blackwing helps complete a Raven option for Druid! Savagery Chaos Perk is a nice shakeup to the usual Pack Leader reset fishing, making Ravens a Core Skill and Spirit Spender Skill with no cooldown. Grizzly Rage is nerfed but it still has strong multipliers, damage unifying to Poison, easy Poisoned Condition spread, easy Fortify and permanent Unstoppable.
Is the new Aspect of the Wildrage usable? I think it’s an RNG flex with
Aspect of the Stampede. Feel free to try it out.
There’s pretty significant overlap between this and the Wolves build. Gameplay should feel generally similar.
The following list details the important changes in the Season 10 Patch Updates that are specific to the Ravens Druid. For general Season 10 information, check out our Season 10 Hub.
Itemization:
Earth and Sky Damage bonus increased from 10% to 18%.
- New Unique – Kilt of Blackwing
- Ravens deal 60-100% increased damage and shapeshifting into a different form or activating a Companion Skill Summons a Raven that attacks nearby enemies. Summoning a Raven has a chance to call forth an Unkindness for 10 seconds, increasing the number of Ravens Summoned to 3 for the duration.
Aspect of the Wildrage
- Previous: Your Companions gain double the bonus of Bestial Rampage.
- Now: Casting a Companion Skill has a 20-40% chance to activate an equipped Companion Skill and reduce its cooldown by 5 seconds.
Skills and Stats:
Grizzly Rage
- Base damage reduced from 60% to 40%.
- Damage bonus per second reduced from 4% to 1% (capping at 25% rather than 100%).
- Now begins its cooldown when it’s activated rather than after it ends.
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed an issue where Grizzly Rage was granting Unstoppable without learning its upgrades.
- Fixed an issue where Grizzly Rage was not removed from the available Skills on your Skill bar while it’s activated.
- Fixed an issue where Grizzly Rage did not periodically increase the player’s damage as expected.
- Fixed an issue where Druid Ravens passive power was not receiving bonuses from instances of Additive or Multiplicative bonus damage towards shapeshifting forms or human form.
- Fixed an issue where Stormcrow’s Aspect was not properly granting the Storm Skill bonus to Ravens.
