In Season 15, leveling your alt character has become faster than ever. The Gift of the Tree event is now live, providing bonus Whisper Caches that can be combined with War Plans for a huge XP boost.
Whisper Caches provide Experience Orbs that scale with the Torment difficulty they were earned on. This makes them one of the best methods for leveling alt characters. Simply farm some Whispers on your main character while on a high Torment difficulty and then open the caches on the alt character you wish to level.
In patch 3.2.1, various XP sources were increased, including the Bonus Experience from Torment difficulties, as well as the amount of Experience Orbs dropped by Whisper Caches.
The Wisdom of Whispers War Plan node further increases the Experience Orbs dropped by Whisper Caches by another 50%.
Combined with the Gift of the Tree event, which provides bonus caches when opening a Whisper Cache means that leveling a character from scratch to level 70 can take as few as 2 Whisper Caches.
The Gift of the Tree event will be live until October 7, but even after it ends, this method of leveling will still be extremely fast for alts; it will just require a couple more Whisper Caches to reach max level.
